Carol and Bill Martin performed at our facility for the first time and our residents enjoyed so many of their favorite songs from the past! Carol and Bill entertain at several centers in the community, so we are very fortunate they will be scheduling us into their busy schedule every now and then. Thank you both. Huge congratulations to Dana Marsh, Director of Rehab at Spring Valley Health & Rehabilitation, on being named Reliant’s Care Matters Award winner at the nationwide RDO Leadership Summit in Plano, Texas!

Out of hundreds of therapy directors across the country, Dana was selected after being nominated by coworkers and corporate team members, which speaks volumes about the impact she has on the people around her.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We remember and celebrate the heroes whose courage and dedication gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We are especially grateful to the veterans, residents, families, and staff members who have served our nation with pride. This Memorial Day, we pause to reflect, remember, and give thanks.

Spring Valley staff put on their Baker’s Hats to show off their best Chocolate Chip Cookie’s for sampling. There were a total of 10 entries but only 3 could be the "Best of the Best". Thank you everyone for participating. Staff and residents enjoyed the cookies and look forward to the next competition.

Day # 7 of National Nursing Home week was Friday, May 15th. We closed out the great week with Carnival Day. We had lots of festivities including cotton candy for everyone, outside play, a dunk tank, lots of games and fun! Residents and staff had a blast with water soaked fun, no one left dry, and everyone enjoyed yummy Funnel cakes. What a great week we all had! We are already making plans for next year. Great job, Team Spring Valley!

The 5th Day of National Skilled Nursing Care Week was 50’s Day! Our Maintenance team grilled hamburgers for the residents and staff. Residents enjoyed an afternoon of ice cream from Phoenix Hospice. We truly appreciated. Everyone joined in the fun of karaoke and lots of photo fun with Elvis, Marilyn and James Dean. It truly would not have been a party without them showing up.

Day # 4 of National Skilled Nursing Care Week is Farm & Western Day. Our maintenance crew spent over 13 hours smoking pulled pork for residents and staff to enjoy. Residents spent the afternoon with our little furry friends (chickens we recently hatched)!

At our Spring Valley Farm, we played horse shoe and our own ornamental chicken race game. We all reminisced with samples of apple butter. Everyone had a "Yee Haw" good time!

The 3rd Day of National Nursing Home Week is Hawaiian Day. Everyone enjoyed a comedy show from Johnny Rooster, Marketing Director for Papa John’s Pizza. Johnny does an interactive program to involve the residents which includes a homemade band and his very own music tailored to the Spring Valley audience. Residents and staff enjoyed Papa John's Pizza and lots of photo fun.

National Skilled Nursing Care Week day 2 is Sports Day! Basketball Toss, football toss, corn hole, and bowling are just a few of the sports residents enjoyed. Then, we celebrated their wins with grilled hot dogs, nachos, cookies and soda. Hooray for the team at Spring Valley!
