Are sounds suddenly too sharp, tinny, or even irritating with your hearing aids?

This is one of the most common concerns we hear from new hearing aid users.

The good news? It usually doesn't mean anything is wrong with your hearing aids.

When hearing has been reduced for years, your brain gradually forgets what many everyday sounds are supposed to sound like. Once those sounds are restored, things like dishes clanking, paper crinkling, running water, turn signals, and even your own voice can seem unusually sharp or metallic at first.

This adjustment period is completely normal and often improves as your brain relearns these sounds.

In this short video, we explain:
✅ Why sounds can seem "tinny" or overly sharp
✅ What your brain is experiencing during the adjustment process
✅ When this is normal—and when you should contact your provider

Have you experienced this with hearing aids? Let us know in the comments.

Small changes in hearing care tend to add up more than people expect, and one of the biggest ones is how much easier it becomes to follow a conversation once the right support is in place.
