Kenneth Norton Ross Jr. (Ken/Kenny) passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, following a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife in his final moments.
Ken was born on March 5, 1952, in Springfield, VT, to his late parents, Kenneth Norton Ross Sr. and Priscilla R. Ross. He grew up with three sisters: Diane, Deborah and Rebecca. Ken graduated from Springfield High School and also attended The University of Vermont.
Over the years, Ken worked at The Duck Inn, Holiday Inn and as a wine merchant traveling the world. He also worked at Brown’s Tavern at the Ascutney Mountain Resort before moving to Florida, where he managed an RV park for 13 years. He eventually returned to his hometown of Springfield, Vermont, to be closer to his family.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Jean Ross, whom he married on June 3, 2007, and by his stepdaughters, Jocelyn, Johanna, Dominique, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by his four grandchildren—Aiden, Noah, Willow, and Astrid—as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ken deeply cherished his family, friends, and his dog, Sheba. He enjoyed staying busy, loved his coffee, and found great joy in bike riding and skiing. He will be greatly missed and loved forever.
Family and friends may call at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vermont from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday July 2, a funeral service will be held at the chapel at 11:00 AM with burial following in the Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, Vt.
