Richard E. Omand 88, died Saturday October 10, 2026, at his home. He was born November 2, 1937, in Manchester, New Hampshire the son or Arthur E. and Edith (Spiller) Omand. He graduated from Central High School in 1955, obtained his bachelor's degree from Plymouth State College and later his Master's degree from Springfield College. He served in the United State Air Force for four years and the United States Army Reserve for 25 years obtaining the rank of E-8.

On Valentine’s Day 1966 Richard met Marsha Haartz through a mutual friend and took her for a cup of coffee. He married her the following year on June 18, 1967, and they were together for 60 years.

Richard and Marsha moved to Vermont in 1969 where Richard was a Physical Education Teacher, Coach and Athletic Department Director at Leland and Gray High School in Townshend for 26 years, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the Townshend Church, a member of the Mt. Lebanon Lodge #46, Free & Accepted Mason, involved with the Boy Scouts and a coach for many sports in the Townshend area over the years. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, lots of house projects, and bringing in the firewood every year.

He is survived by his wife Marsha Omand, four children; Tamry Bratton (Scott) Alex Omand (Sabrina), Thaddeus Omand, and Luke Omand (Kristina). Grandchildren; Abigail Blish (Josh), Autumn, Bowen, Dorian, Jacob (Amanda), Daniel, Hailey (Ricky), Faith, Lucia and Will. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother Arthur E. Omand Jr., one sister Marjorie Gohgen, and by two grandsons Ron Underwood, and Mark Omand.

A memorial service will be held at the Townshend Church on Nov. 7 at 11:00am. A reception will follow the service.

Kathy Jean Coolidge-Lewis of North Springfield, VT passed away October 11th 2026 at
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Kathy was born December 25 (Christmas baby), 1961 at Bellows Falls Hospital to Wendell
Coolidge and Linda (Coolidge) Barber. She grew up in Chester, VT and graduated from
GMUHS, class of 1979.
On ”Fool’s Day” 2000 Kathy married Daniel Lewis of North Springfield.
She worked at Newsbank, Chester, as a customer service rep (starting part time in high school)
until early 2000’s. She was then employed as a customer service rep and shift supervisor at
Black River Produce, N. Springfield until retirement.
Survivors include: husband, Daniel Lewis - mother, Linda (Coolidge) Barber - sister, Nancy
Harford - brother, Michael Coolidge. Also Dan and Kathy’s children: Jesse (Victoria) Johnson,
Corey (Rebecca) Johnson, Brian (Joanne) Lewis and Renee Lewis. Kathy’s nieces and
nephews Angela (Kirk) Comstock, Nathan Harford, Rebecca Austin and Britney Johnson. Many
cousins, several aunts, numerous cousins, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Kathy would insist of the list of her feline companions spanning twenty-seven years… #1 Molly,
#2 Lacey, #3(x2) siblings Jack & Nelle. Currently is Gracie.
Kathy was predeceased by Wendall Coolidge (father),and Doug Coolidge (brother).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to, or an adoption from, the Springfield
Humane Society.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday October 22 between 2:00-3:00 PM at Davis Memorial Chapel,
Summer St. Springfield, VT. Services, at Davis Chapel are at 3:00 PM and burial will be
immediately after at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cemetery Rd. North Springfield VT.

Olive C. LeBrun 96, died at her home on Tuesday morning October 13, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born March 4, 1930 in Springfield, Vermont the daughter of George and Charlotte H. (Martin) Snide. She attended and graduated schools in Springfield, Vt. and later Nursing School in Bennington, Vt.

On July 8, 1967 she married Robert E. LeBrun, He predeceased her on March 10, 2005.

Olive was an LPN with Springfield Hospital and several local nursing homes over the years.

She is survived by her daughter Roberta LeBrun, granddaughter Christine Simonds, great grandchildren, Robert Ahern, and Charlotte and Emily Stillwell, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband and siblings; Ralph Snide, Wilfred Snide, Margaret Snide, Herbert Snide, Earl Snide, Pearl Nelson, Gordon Snide, Ralza Snide, Paul Snide, Clara Woodard, Marion Munson, Beula Baldwin, and Charlotte Snide.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday October 21, 2026 at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt. Reverend Marty Bascom will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow the service at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Chester.

Diane M. Neronsky, 91, of Springfield, Vermont, peacefully passed away on October 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Born on June 2, 1934, in Rutland, Vermont, she is the daughter of Joseph and Eileen (Loveday) Pockette. When her family moved to Springfield during her fourth-grade year, she met her lifelong best friend, Lydia (Peterson) Dzewaltowski. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1952. Diane’s joyful spirit shone brightly as she was Springfield’s majorette and also instructed majorette and baton students across New England.

On July 2, 1955, she married her true love, Springfield native Ray Neronsky. They spent 11 years starting their family in Charlotte, North Carolina, before returning to Springfield. Diane and her beloved brother, Tommy (TJ), were prominent figures in their community, known for directing and leading Springfield’s Junior Miss and Apple Blossom Cotillions for many years. Diane also played a significant role in the family business, the “Precision Valley Motel,” and was an active member of her church. For half a century, she valued the friendships she cultivated through the Catholic Daughters at Saint Mary’s Parish.

Diane was known for her kindhearted, lively spirit. She loved creating a beautiful home, taking annual trips to Maine with her girlfriends, and spending time with those she cared about. Always caring and generous, Diane committed her time to helping others—whether giving a ride to an appointment, volunteering at the hospital coffee shop, offering needed words of encouragement, or simply stopping by for a friendly visit.

Her life was devoted to her three beloved sons—John Joseph (Sandy), Jeff (Mary), and Jerry (Mark)—and her treasured grandsons, John Raymond and Matthew. They truly were the meaning of her life. Diane was a remarkable and selfless mother and grandmother whose happiness stemmed from cherished moments with her family, including her dear cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be profoundly missed but will stay forever in the hearts and memories of those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray, and her dear, sweet son, Jeff.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday October 23, 2026 at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt. Father Larry of St. Mary’s Holy Family Church will officiate.

Alfred L. Craigue “Alfie” 74, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday September 16, 2026. He was born August 7, 1952 in Chincoteague, Virginia the son of Richard and Thelma (Pecor) Craigue.

He graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1970.

Alfred was employed as a Machinist at Fellows Gear Shaper and later at Lovejoy Tool Co. for many years.

On August 31, 1996 He married Cherlene Stockman in Springfield, Vermont, they had been together since 1977.

He enjoyed walking, candlepin bowling and billiards. He was an active member of the Springfield Elks Lodge 1560, and the Springfield Moose Lodge 679.

He also loved his dogs Cajah, Dingo, and Baron.

He is survived by his wife Cherlene, and siblings; Dennis Wright, Robert Pecor, and Pamela Pecor
He was predeceased by his parents, and one brother William Wright.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Frances E. Busick, 91, of Springfield, VT, passed away on January 4, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1934 in New Haven, CT, daughter of George and Bina (Spencer) Bethke. She attended school in New Haven, CT.

On November 21, 1953, she married Nicholas Busick, and together they raised their daughter Virginia.

Frances worked in Woolworth’s coffee shop and later as an LNA at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow and at Springfield Health and Rehab.

She loved bingo, flea markets and spending time with family. She was devoted to her family. She loved barbecues and adventures with her husband and daughter. She was great at sewing and sewed many costumes for her grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her 3 grandchildren Tracy Johnson, Khristina Johnson and Scott Pailley; 3 great grandsons; 1 great granddaughter and beloved dog Chrissy.

She is predeceased by her husband Nick, daughter Virginia, five brothers, 2 sisters and the many beloved dogs that came into her life.

A graveside service will be held at the Cavendish Village Cemetery, October 26th at 1:00pm.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Janet Marie Blanchard, on October 5th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Colchester, Vermont, on January 29, 1946, Janet and her seven siblings grew up in Underhill Center, Vermont, with their mother, Thelma Hutchins.

While working at IBM in Burlington, Vermont, Janet met the love of her life, Wayne Blanchard, who became her husband of forty-seven years when he preceded her in death (2013).

Janet worked in a variety of settings; however, her most cherished role was wife, mother, and caregiver to those she loved. She valued her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
Janet had a vivacious spirit and enjoyed spontaneous adventures with her friends and taking frequent trips to Maine. She had a loving, giving heart and became friends with almost everyone she met. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, crafting, collecting antiques, and reading her Bible. She was a strong, independent woman who embraced life’s challenges with courage and faith.

Janet is survived by her sister, Cheryl Phillips, and her husband, John, of Reidsville, NC; her brother, Glen Machia, of Jeffersonville, Vermont; her son, Todd Blanchard, and his wife, Jodi, of Port Charlotte, Florida; her daughter, Millissa Machia, and her husband, Mark, of Reidsville, NC; and her daughter, Tiffany Riley, and her husband, David, of Shapleigh, Maine. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

There will be a formal memorial and graveside service, October 29th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the historic Union Christian Church in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, followed by a graveside service at the Plymouth Notch Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Kirk J. Handly 68, died Sunday morning at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Vermont. He was born May 5, 1958 in Los Gatos, California the son of Robert and Blanche (Blodgett) Handly. He attended schools and graduated high school in California.

Kirk worked in construction in California for several years and after moving to Vermont he worked at Idlenot Dairy, Ben and Jerry’s and most recently as a Machinist at IVEK.

He enjoyed woodworking, racing video games, NASCAR racing, and football. He was a San Francisco 49ers fan. He also enjoyed cooking, and his breakfasts were legendary. He was a music lover and a big fan of Chris Isaak.

He is survived by one son Isaiah Handly, four siblings; Deborah, Kevin, Wendy and his twin Kathy. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Portia and his ex-wife Jean (Watkins) Handly.

There will be no formal services at this time.
