I need to slow down. 🙏
First off: GIRL, ME TOO! 😅
Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do on our mats is… less. I'll never forget when I first started teaching Restorative and was cramming 8 poses into one class - it was a gamechanger for us all when I learned the power of just 4-5 poses in an hour. As one student shared recently:
"I love Sunni’s Restorative class. The nervous system reset I get out of every class is REAL. She weaves yoga philosophy principles and wisdom into every class, which has helped me deepen my own practice even outside of the studio. I always leave feeling like I learned something about myself."
Thanks for the shout-out, friend! 🥲
But FOR REAL: We live in a world that often tells us to do more, push harder, and keep going. But at Essential, we believe rest has a place in every yoga practice AND we have three practices to specifically support slowing down.
In Yin, Restorative, and Chair Yoga - Restore, we make space to slow down, turn inward, and explore what it feels like to be supported.
And we know support looks different for every body. Our teachers bring knowledge, experience, and care to helping students find variations, props, and positions that meet their individual needs. Whether that means settling into a supported resting pose, practicing entirely in a chair, or finding a different way to get comfortable in the discomfort of a deep stretch, there's room to make the practice your own. 💜
You can simply show up as you are and let us take care of the rest!
These practices have us lingering a little longer, resting a little more deeply, and working with our connective tissue to support our physical and energetic bodies.
Yin Yoga - offered Tuesdays at 7p and Thursdays at 9a
Chair Yoga – Restore - offered Mondays at 4p
Restorative - offered Mondays at 530p
Sometimes we practice to build strength. Sometimes we practice to move. And sometimes, we practice to let ourselves be held by the moment. 🙌
You don't have to earn rest. Sometimes rest IS the practice.
OM for ALL. 🥰
