At the young age of 3, Crosby was severely struggling with anxiety, excessive stimming (happy flaps), chronic ear infections, and chewing on her fingers. 😔 Despite trying countless therapies and interventions, nothing seemed to provide real the results they were looking for. Mom said, “We kept feeling like we were hitting a wall because all the exercises we were doing and trying at home just didn’t seem to be making much progress.”
Mom shared, “I remember coming in for our first appointment to have Crosby’s first scan and it was a plain disaster. She HATED it. I mean we had to put on the gown and her trigger of being in a doctors office skyrocketed. Her meltdown was super intense for EVERYONE. In the midst of it all I started bawling (not helpful I know) and I remember saying, “You are my last hope, this is what it is like all the time and I don’t know what else to do.”
Mom and Dad were determined and chose to trust the process! They held onto hope that a different approach would lead to different (and much better) results. 🤞🏼
“We noticed an immediate change within a week of care. Her sleep improved significantly. She no longer was restless when sleeping. She would stay in the same sleeping position for much longer periods than before. After about a few weeks we noticed she became more comfortable with going to TFC and it didn’t seem to trigger any feelings on going to a doctor's office.”
As they continued care, the transformation was undeniable. “It took her about 4-5 months when we started noticing a decrease in her “happy flaps” and on month 6 she quit chewing on her fingers and has not chewed on them or anything since.”
Mom shares after completing their care plan “We now feel more confident as a family going to different places because her anxiety has diminished significantly. Doctors' visits are also not as traumatic or emotional for everyone involved.”
Way to go, Crosby! You are going to do amazing things sweet girl! 🙌
