We are part of the PeaceHealth organization with facilities in Alaska, Oregon and Washington. Joseph of Peace bought the hospital known today as Sacred Heart Medical Center–University District in 1936. In Lane County, PeaceHealth has grown to include four hospitals, and numerous primary, specialty and urgent care locations throughout the area. After receiving certificate of need approval from the Oregon Health Authority, we are one step away from making Timber Springs Behavioral Health Hospital a reality!

In this video, Brian Nelson, a PeaceHealth counselor, shares why this project matters to our community. Timber Springs will expand access to inpatient psychiatric care across Lane County, where demand for beds can make it difficult for people to get the care they need.

He loves Oregon’s rugged outdoors and served Multnomah and Clackamas County communities for years as a river rescue EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and paramedic. PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center cardiologists Dr. Eric Muller and Dr. Kristin Linzmeyer recently joined KLCC’s “Oregon on the Record” to talk about prevention, risk factors and the everyday choices that can help lower your risk of heart disease.

“We should be seeing everybody. You don’t need a problem to come see us,” Dr. Muller said. “The earlier you make changes, the more significant the effects can be down the road to lower their risk and really prevent events.”
