I recently recieved certification in Perinatal mood disorders through Postpartum Support International. I stand with those calling for the revisions of the DSM to increase the postpartum period well beyond 4 weeks. Many women do not even get their menstrual cycles back for a year and breastfeed many years. These are the same folks that say your baby will sleep on their own at 6 months and that there is no need to respond to your crying baby. We also need postpartum psychosis and postpartum bipolar psychosis as their own diagnosis. 🌿🌿🌿

BREAKING: Governor Ron DeSantis has vetoed CS/SB 688, leaving Florida's decades-old prohibition on naturopathy in place.

Despite strong bipartisan support in the Florida Legislature, the veto means naturopathy remains a felony in the state. For supporters of healthcare choice, practitioner freedom and access to natural medicine, this is a significant setback.

Read the full press release and learn more about the veto here: 🔗 https://fnpa.org/news

This setback is not the end of the movement. Stay informed, share the news, and join us as we continue working to restore healthcare choice in Florida.

Love this!

Naturopathic doctors were practicing functional medicine before it was cool. 😉

Long before “root cause medicine” became a buzzword, naturopathic physicians were asking different questions:

🔍 Why is this happening?
🔍 What systems are connected?
🔍 What is driving the dysfunction?
🔍 How can we support the body’s ability to heal?

We weren’t trained to simply match a diagnosis to a medication. We were trained to look at the whole person- their nutrition, gut health, hormones, immune system, environment, stress, sleep, relationships, genetics, and lifestyle- and understand how those pieces work together.

That’s not a trend.

That’s been the foundation of naturopathic medicine for over a century.

I’m grateful that more people are becoming interested in root-cause medicine and taking a proactive role in their health. The more conversations we have about prevention, nutrition, lifestyle, and whole-person care, the better.

The goal has never been to be different.

The goal has always been to help people heal.

For those of us who’ve been doing this for years, it’s been pretty incredible to watch the rest of healthcare start asking the same questions we’ve been asking all along.

💜 Here’s to treating the person, not just the diagnosis.

Big news for Naturopathic Medicine in Nova Scotia! As of May 27, 2026, the Nova Scotia Chiropractic and Naturopathic Regulator (NSCNR) is officially in force — meaning NDs are now formally recognized under the province’s Regulated Health Professions Act. This milestone strengthens public safety, sets clear professional standards, and solidifies the role of Naturopathic Doctors within Nova Scotia’s healthcare system. Congratulations to all involved! 🍁
