Kayla Boys just finished the Tour du Mont-Blanc, a 10-day trek across France, Italy and Switzerland. When she reached the end, she and her friends took two photos to send to her PT, Lindsy Palisca.

Getting there took years. Kayla lives with hypermobility and has been navigating perimenopause and menopause. Over eight years at our Camas clinic, Lindsy helped her stop asking β€œwhat’s wrong with me?” and start asking β€œhow do I keep doing what I love?” The answer wasn’t doing less. It was moving differently.

Physical therapy isn’t only for bouncing back from injury. It’s how you keep going for decades.

Why is the relationship between a PT and their patient so important? Here’s what our clinicians say. πŸ‘‡

It starts with a simple idea: you are the expert on your own life.
Your PT brings the clinical expertise. You bring your experience, your goals, your challenges, and your priorities. And together, you figure out what comes next.

That’s why a physical therapy evaluation is about more than checking a box. It’s where your PT learns what you’re dealing with, what matters most to you, and what you want to get back to.

It’s also a big part of why PT involves more than exercise: the plan is built with you, not handed to you.

Curious what it’s really like to be a physical therapist? Hear it straight from the people who do it every day. πŸ’›

β€œI like personally making a difference in people’s lives. The ability to get someone go from β€˜I can barely walk to the car’ to β€˜I’m on the ground playing with my grandkids’… And having that huge & positive change in someones life is super empowering.” - Jacob DuVall, PT

You have already probably met Cristina in the office over the last few months! πŸ₯° Cristina grew up in Eugene, but has also spent time living in San Diego, California. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology and plans to take a gap year while applying to physical therapy programs.

Cristina’s interest in physical therapy began at a young age after spending years in PT for various injuries. Watching her physical therapists identify the cause of her pain and help her return to activities inspired her to pursue a career in the field. She hopes to become a physical therapist and is excited to continue gaining experience through shadowing opportunities in the clinic.

Outside of the clinic, Cristina enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with friends and her orange cat named Cody. 🐈

Looking ahead, Cristina’s goals are to continue building her clinical experience, apply to physical therapy school, and take the next step toward a career helping patients of her own! πŸ‘πŸΌ

Welcome Brooklynn! ❀️ She started this week as a receptionist and you will probably see her around a lot!

Brooklynn has lived in multiple places throughout her life, including Nashua, New Hampshire and Gilroy, California. She graduated from Willamette University and plans to pursue a career as a physical therapist with the goal of one day opening her own practice.

Brooklynn’s passion for PT began during her years as an athlete.πŸ₯ She relied on physical therapists who supported her through the highs and lows, helping her recover from injuries and continue competing in collegiate sports. Their impact inspired her to pursue a career where she can help others regain a part of their life back.

Brooklynn enjoys staying active, especially playing golf, and is excited to be an assistant coach for a local high school lacrosse team in the spring. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have a Goldendoodle named Zookie.πŸ₯°
One of her proudest accomplishments is becoming a first-generation college graduate. One of her goals is to become more involved in her community while continuing to work toward becoming a physical therapist! πŸ€—
