One of our veteran flight nurses, Alyssa, did the responsible thing and went in for her routine mammogram this past January. Unfortunately, it detected cancer. Fortunately, it was caught early. While she remains steadfast throughout this whole ordeal, she still remains an advocate for others by urging them to schedule their routine mammograms.

While we miss her a lot around the base, we’re hopeful for her return! Her journey is a powerful reminder that early detection matters. A screening appointment may seem like just another item on your to-do list, but it has the potential to save your life.

Alyssa, a true advocate, wants to encourage everyone who is due for a mammogram to make the call, schedule the appointment, and take that step for yourself and the people who love you.

Alyssa, we're cheering you on through every treatment, every challenge, and every victory. Your strength, resilience, and determination inspire us all! We're behind you every step of the way.

This National EMS Week, we honor both ground and flight EMS who answer the call—every hour of every day. 🚑🚁

They respond to car crashes on highways, heart attacks in living rooms, overdoses in parking lots, traumatic injuries, shootings, strokes, house fires, pediatric emergencies, and the moments families will remember for the rest of their lives.

EMS professionals walk into chaos when everyone else is running out. They provide comfort in fear, calm in tragedy, and lifesaving care when seconds matter most.
But behind every siren is a human being carrying the weight of what they see and experience. The trauma, the missed holidays, the sleepless nights, the emotional toll of loss, and the responsibility of making critical decisions under pressure are often unseen.

Ground EMS and flight EMS are both essential links in emergency care. Whether responding by ambulance on the streets or by helicopter from the sky, these teams work together to bring hope, advanced care, and a fighting chance to patients when they need it most.

This week, we recognize the dedication, sacrifice, resilience, and compassion of EMS professionals everywhere.
Thank you for answering the call and standing in the hardest moments.
