We are proud that our remodeled facility includes this special space designed to support not only physical health, but also emotional and spiritual well-being.

❤️ Our chapel is available to patients, visitors supporting loved ones, and Southeast Colorado Hospital District staff, offering a peaceful space for prayer, reflection, comfort, and quiet moments throughout the day.

The chapel is conveniently located in the Emergency Department/Hospital family waiting area, providing a quiet place of comfort and support when it is needed most.

🌬️ Breathe Easier, Right Here at Home!

We are excited to highlight our Respiratory Department and the full line of specialized services we offer to our community. You don’t have to travel far for high-quality lung and heart monitoring—we provide expert care right here in Springfield!

Our Specialized Services Include:
Spirometry (Lung function breathing test)
Holter Monitor (Continuous heart rhythm tracking)
Overnight Pulse Oximetry (Oxygen level monitoring)
Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)

How it Works:
Get an Order: These services are available to patients with a referral from their healthcare provider.
Local Care: After your provider places an order, we can perform the testing locally in our Outpatient RT Clinic located in the Southeast Colorado Medical Clinic building.
Expert Guidance: Once we receive your order, our Respiratory Therapist will call you to schedule your appointment.
Easy Check-In: On the day of your test, simply head to the clinic to check in!

We are proud to provide these essential outpatient services so you can stay close to home while getting the answers you need.

National Men’s Health Month 🎣

At Southeast Colorado Hospital District, we know that many of the men in our communities spend their days caring for others—providing for their families, working hard, serving their neighbors, and putting the needs of loved ones before their own.

This National Men’s Health Month, we encourage every man to take time to care for himself, too.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Celebrating Jill Negrete! 🌟

We are wrapping up May with Speech Therapy Month by recognizing a vital cornerstone of our therapy team. Join us in honoring the incredible Jill Negrete, SLP!

Jill is a part-time staff member at Southeast Colorado Hospital District and holds a truly unique and vital role in our community as the only Speech-Language Pathologist in town. We are incredibly proud and grateful to have her expertise on our team.

📜 A Lifelong Passion for Helping Others
Jill knew from a very young age that she wanted to teach. However, a single speech class changed everything, opening her eyes to a path where education meets specialized care. She knew instantly it was the perfect job for her. Jill has been bringing that dedicated passion to SECHD since the 1990s.

🛠️ Life Outside the District
When she isn’t helping her patients find their voices and improve their lives, Jill keeps busy with a wonderfully diverse mix of hobbies. You might find her:
Getting handy: She loves carpentry and isn't afraid to pick up power tools!
Tending the earth: She is an avid gardener.
Creating in the kitchen: She loves to cook up delicious meals.
Family time: Above all, she treasures spending quality time with her kids.
