This poor Mama!!
As I watched this unfold in my backyard, I couldn't help but wonder if she was about to lose her mind. I could imagine her yelling "where is your father!?"
I'm sure it's happened to many of us.
We have a list of errands running through our mental catalogue. We're rushing to get everyone out of the house...nearly on time.
You've got the kids buckled into their seats, ready to pull out of the garage when someone let's out a shriek that would wake the dead.
They forgot (insert whatever item that they simply cannot live without and no, we may not wait until we get home to retrieve it, Mom. We are already home. Go get it!)
You oblige, as one does, warning them "STAY. RIGHT. HERE. I'll be right back."
You rush into the house to retrieve said item and when you turn around, your little babes have appeared as quietly as the night. They did NOT listen.
Back to the car we go...didn't we already do this?
Yes, yes we did.
This Duck Mama, though. The story from my husband is that he had to set up a ramp for the babes to get out of the pool. One little one wasn't done playing so Mama had to go back in to help. And you see what happens.
Sometimes, we just need to slow down and let life happen the way it's going to. Some of those are the best moments. Not always able to happen, but when they do, let them. Embrace the moment!
Happy Summer!
