From Injustice to Divine Liberation: A Journey of True Freedom
What a truly powerful evening we experienced at Benedictine Living Community- St. Joseph! For National Forgiveness Day, we had the distinct honor of hosting Darryl Burton, who shared a remarkable testimony of resilience, faith, and the life-changing power of letting go.
🎵 A BIG thank you to La'Sherrie for opening the evening with her beautiful, inspirational songs! Her music set the perfect tone for the night and deeply touched everyone in attendance before the presentation even began.
Though wrongly convicted by a flawed system and imprisoned for 24 years, Darryl discovered that his deepest confinement wasn't physical—it was the hatred and bitterness growing in his heart. Through Christ’s command to love and forgive, he found a profound spiritual freedom long before his physical chains were finally broken.
Darryl’s message reminded us all that forgiveness isn't about minimizing past pain, but about unlocking our own emotional prisons. Everyone who left the presentation felt a little lighter, deeply inspired, and wonderfully filled with hope.
Thank you, Darryl, for showing us what it truly means to be "better, not bitter," and thank you again to La'Sherrie for sharing your incredible gift of song with us!
