Enlitens is a neuro-affirming, rebellious collective in St. Louis dedicated to a radical idea: You don't need to be "fixed"—you need to be understood. Founded by Liz Wooten, LPC ("The Rebellious Academic"), we reject the traditional "patholo

gy paradigm" that treats Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD) and Trauma as disorders to be cured. Instead, we view them as valid operating systems that simply need the right manual. Here is how we disrupt the standard mental health model:

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Just a reminder that your mental health is part of your overall health. If you're having difficulties with anxiety, depression, focus, or your thoughts, your physical health can be impacted as well. On the flip side; if you're more relaxed, focused, and happy your physical health has a chance to thrive. Be sure to check in with the mental part of your health from time to time.

Do you have a self care routine? Self care is super personal and not everything works for everyone. I always suggest instead of trying the self care things that work for your friends, try and find something that falls in these categories. Maybe journaling isn't for you, but using your brain to design something with legos is. Yoga not your thing? Maybe a dance party by yourself will help. Whatever it is, do the things you like...that's why it's SELF care. :)
