When someone in your family is struggling with addiction, it impacts the entire family.

The worry, the walking on eggshells, the exhaustion of not knowing what today will bring.

It's not just their battle, it's yours too. And that means you deserve support just as much as they do.

💛 At New Dawn Family Healing, we specialize in helping those impacted by their loved one's substance use disorder (SUD).

If someone you love is struggling with drugs or alcohol, you already know that it doesn't just affect them. It affects you, your relationships, your sleep, your sense of self.

Family members of people with substance use disorder are more likely to experience anxiety, depression, and burnout. Many spend years focused entirely on their loved one's recovery while putting their own needs last.

At New Dawn, we believe healing happens in the whole family system, not just the individual. Support is here for you, too.

You're not alone in this. 💜

Every family. Every person. You're welcome here. 🌈

As we wrap up , remember that the conversations don’t stop just because May does.

Keep checking in with yourself.
Keep checking in with your people.
Keep making space for honesty, support, and healing in everyday life.

You're not alone. 🤍

You don’t have to wait until you’re running on empty to care for yourself. 💛

This Memorial Day, we honor the service members who gave their lives and the families whose lives were forever changed by that sacrifice.

May we remember them with care, gratitude, and deep respect.

Did you know? Fidgeting can be a simple way to stay grounded during therapy. 🧠

For kids and adults, having something to do with your hands can make it easier to talk, listen, and work through uncomfortable emotions.

It might be a fidget toy, a stress ball, a textured object, or even doodling.

Therapy doesn’t have to look perfectly still or formal. Sometimes the small things help people feel safe enough to open up.

When you love someone in active addiction, hard conversations can feel personal fast.

A text comes through, and suddenly you feel pulled to defend yourself, explain everything, fix the situation, or give in just to keep the peace.

But you’re allowed to pause.

You can respond with love and still hold a boundary.
You can care about what they’re going through and be honest about what you can’t do.
You can stay calm and not take responsibility for their choices.

Healthy communication takes practice, especially when old patterns are involved.
