3.5 Years in the Making!

This photo is extra special. I’ve had the privilege of working with this family for over 3½ years, making them my longest-running clients since I opened SCC, and today, they signed the lease on their new home!

At Senior Community Connections, there is never pressure to move before you’re ready. Sometimes the process takes weeks, sometimes months…and sometimes 3½ years. Everyone moves on their own timeline as long as it’s safe, and I’ll be there for as long as it takes.

Next up? I’ll be joining them at their new community for a celebration happy hour to toast this exciting new chapter! 🥂

Thinking about senior living but not ready to make a move? That’s okay. Let’s just start the conversation.

The Caregiver’s Advocate, Volume 2, is an international bestseller, and it is now officially available as an audiobook!

I had the honor of contributing a chapter about caregiver guilt, a topic that is incredibly close to my heart.

Caregivers give so much of themselves to the people they love, often while carrying guilt, exhaustion, and the feeling that they should somehow be doing even more.

We also know that caregivers rarely have the time, or the luxury, to sit down and read a book.

That is why I’m especially excited that this valuable resource is now available in audio format.

You can listen while driving, running errands, taking a walk, or finding a few quiet moments in your day.

It was truly an honor to be part of this meaningful project alongside Debbie Compton and the other contributing authors.

If you would like a hard copy, please reach out to me directly. Or, if audio works better for your busy life, you can now find the audiobook on Amazon!

This week I had the privilege of speaking to a caregiver support group at a major financial services firm; over 700 people nationwide joined the conversation on navigating caregiving decisions, from recognizing when it's time for more help to managing the guilt that so often comes with these transitions.

The turnout told me something: caregivers are hungry for real, practical guidance, and companies want to offer that support to their teams and clients.

If your company, organization, or client group hosts a caregiver support group or is thinking about starting one, I'd love to come speak. Topics I cover include senior living transitions, dementia care, avoiding caregiver burnout, and getting help before a crisis hits.

Send me a message if you'd like to talk about bringing this conversation to your group.

One of the greatest compliments we can ever receive is when a referral partner not only trusts us with the families they serve, but also trusts us to help one of their own family members.

That kind of trust is never taken lightly.

I’m incredibly honored to have been there for this family and so grateful for these kind words. Thank you, C.B., for allowing me to walk alongside you and your mom during such an important transition.

Helping families find the right senior living community isn’t just my job. It’s my passion, and it’s a responsibility I cherish every single day. ❤️

When families are faced with difficult and unexpected decisions, they shouldn’t have to navigate them alone.

I’m incredibly grateful to Cynthia for trusting Senior Community Connections during a challenging time for her family. Helping connect her husband to the right rehabilitation services and supporting them every step of the way is exactly why I started this business.

Knowing he was able to get the care he needed and successfully return home is the best outcome we could hope for.

Thank you, Cynthia, for your kind words and for allowing me to be part of your family’s journey. ❤️

If you or someone you love needs guidance with senior living, rehabilitation options, memory care, assisted living, or long-term care planning, I’m here to help.

Sometimes a senior moves into a community and later finds out it’s not the right fit. It could be because their care needs have changed, the community doesn’t offer a dementia or memory care unit, behaviors have increased, or they now require a higher level of care.

Being asked to move can be incredibly stressful and emotional for both the senior and their family. And unfortunately, not every community is able or willing to accept certain care needs, which can make the process even more overwhelming.

At Senior Community Connections, we help families narrow down the best options to find the RIGHT fit the next time , because every move matters.

Multiple transitions can be very difficult on seniors, especially those living with dementia. Each move can lead to confusion, major adjustment challenges, and even decline.

If you or someone you love has found themselves in a community that’s no longer the right fit, let Senior Community Connections help guide you to a safer, more appropriate long-term solution.

You don’t have to navigate it alone. ❤️

Mother’s Day often brings families together, and sometimes it also brings awareness to changes we may not have noticed before. ❤️

If you spent time with your loved one this weekend and noticed they may be struggling with 2 or more activities of daily living, it may be time to start exploring options for additional support.

Some signs may include needing help with:
• Bathing
• Dressing
• Medication management
• Toileting
• Mobility/walking
• Meal preparation or eating

Starting the conversation now does NOT mean a move has to happen immediately. In fact, planning ahead often gives families more choices, less stress, and better outcomes.

Too often families wait until there is a crisis before looking at senior living options. Beginning the conversation early allows everyone time to process, plan, and make the best decision together.

If you’re noticing changes and wondering what next steps might look like, I’m happy to help guide you through the process.

Rachel and I spent the morning out visiting some of our amazing referral partners and spreading a little Cinco de Mayo cheer 🌮

We’re so grateful for the trust you place in us when referring your patients and clients. These relationships truly mean everything to our business, and we never take that lightly.

One thing we always want families (and professionals) to know, working with a trusted, local referral partner matters.

Not all placement services are the same, and having someone who truly knows the communities, the nuances of care, and the right fit can make all the difference in what can feel like an overwhelming process.

If you have a family who needs guidance, reassurance, or just someone to walk alongside them step-by-step while navigating senior living options, we’re here.

Reach out anytime, we’re always happy to help.
