MENTAL HEALTH TUESDAY 🧠🤍

Maybe you’re not “too sensitive.”
Maybe you’ve just spent too long in situations where your feelings weren’t safe to have.

Think about it…

You apologize when you haven’t done anything wrong.
You over-explain because you’re afraid of being misunderstood.
You replay conversations for hours wondering if you said something wrong.
You struggle to ask for what you need.
You feel guilty when you set a boundary.
You’re constantly trying to keep everyone else comfortable.

And somewhere along the way, you learned to call all of that “just who I am.”

But patterns are learned.

And what was learned can be unlearned.

Therapy can be a place to slow down, understand where these patterns came from, and begin creating relationships with yourself and others that feel safer, healthier, and more authentic.

You don’t have to keep shrinking yourself to keep the peace. 🌿

You don’t have to earn

✨ rest
✨ help
✨ setting a boundary
✨ taking up space
✨ changing your mind
✨ saying “no”
✨ having feelings
✨ a break
✨ starting over
✨ needing support
✨ being treated with respect

You are allowed to need.
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to choose yourself.

What’s something on this list you’ve been trying to earn instead of allowing yourself to have? 💭

Sometimes “How are you?” gets an automatic “I’m fine.”

This month, we’re encouraging you to ask again.

“How are you really doing?”
“What has been weighing on you lately?”
“How can I support you?”

A genuine conversation can be the beginning of someone feeling less alone.

You don’t have to have the perfect words. You just have to be willing to listen.

🪫Need to Recharge

It's Friday—how's your emotional battery?
No judgment. Just awareness.
Sometimes recognizing that we're running low is exactly what we need to give ourselves permission to rest.
Comment with your battery level below. We'd love to hear how you're doing and what got you there.

Mental wellness isn't only about reducing stress.
It's also about creating a life that feels meaningful.
Take a few moments today to reflect:

✨ What gives you energy?
✨ What leaves you feeling drained?

Awareness is often the first step toward positive change

Considering therapy but have too many questions?

“What do I wear?”
→ “Literally whatever you’re comfortable in. This isn’t a job interview.”

“What if my problems aren’t ‘big’ enough?”
→ “You don’t have to prove that your problems are bad enough to deserve support. Therapy isn’t a competition, and there’s no minimum level of suffering you have to reach before you’re allowed to ask for help.”

“What if I don’t know what to talk about?”
→ “That’s okay. You don’t have to walk in with a perfectly organized presentation of your problems. That’s part of what we’re here to figure out together.”

“Is my therapist judging me?”
→ “No. And I promise, you are probably not going to shock us. Therapists hear people talk about the messy, complicated, uncomfortable parts of life all the time.”

“What if I cry?”
→ “Then you cry. You don’t need to apologize, and you definitely don’t need to clean up your emotions before you come into therapy.”

“What if I don’t cry?”
→ “Also completely fine. Therapy doesn’t have to look like crying on a couch.”

“What if I have nothing to say?”
→ “Then we start there. Sometimes ‘I don’t know what to talk about’ is actually a pretty good place to start.”

“What will we actually do?”
→ “That depends on you. Sometimes we’re talking. Sometimes we’re learning skills. Sometimes we’re working through a specific problem. Sometimes we’re sitting with something that’s really hard.”

“Do I actually have to lay down on the couch?
→ “No.”

✨You don’t have to have it all figured out before you come to therapy. That’s kind of the point.
