New research from the Department of Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases - Mitreva lab explores how a bacterial endosymbiont of the liver fluke Fasciola hepatica varies across regions in the Americas and Europe.

There was a notable association between Neorickettsia infection and triclabendazole resistance in a region of Peru, despite low genetic diversity and strong geographic structure.

Learn how these findings may help explain how drug resistance emerges in specific settings via the link > https://infectiousdiseases.wustl.edu/mitreva-lab-research-suggests-microbial-partners-may-affect-parasite-biology-and-treatment-outcomes/
