We were honored to welcome Jeff Kahrs, Regional Director for Region 7 of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to ARCA today.

During his visit, we discussed the evolving behavioral health landscape and ARCA's commitment to delivering accessible, evidence-based care for individuals and families affected by substance use and mental health challenges.

Recovery happens when people are met with compassion, supported by their communities, and empowered with the tools they need to heal. At ARCA, we are proud to provide patient-centered care that promotes hope, resilience, and lasting recovery.

Thank you for the opportunity to highlight the important work being done to strengthen behavioral health services throughout our communities.

ARCA was proud to be part of the 2026 Missouri Behavioral Health Council (MBHC) Behavioral Health Conference, connecting with behavioral health professionals, advocates, and partners from across Missouri.

ARCA had a lot of participation throughout the conference, with Dr. Fred Rottnek, Suneal Menzies, and Percy Menzies all speaking and sharing their expertise as part of the conference.

A highlight of the conference was celebrating Nora Bock, Director of the Division of Behavioral Health, as she received the Kathy Carter Lasting Legacy Award.

After more than three decades of dedicated service, Nora’s leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on behavioral health across Missouri. As she prepares for retirement, we celebrate her remarkable career and the legacy she leaves behind.

Congratulations, Nora, and thank you for your decades of leadership, dedication, and service to behavioral health and the people of Missouri!

ARCA joins the Dellwood community and Refuge and Restoration NPO in mourning the sudden passing of Mayor Reggie Jones.

Mayor Jones was more than an elected official- he was a leader who cared deeply about Dellwood, its residents, and the organizations working every day to strengthen the community. ARCA has been proud to be part of the Dellwood community, and we are grateful for the leadership, partnership, and commitment Mayor Jones demonstrated throughout his service.

His passing is a tremendous loss for his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire City of Dellwood. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone grieving during this incredibly difficult time.

Leadership is ultimately measured by the lives we touch and the communities we leave stronger than we found them. Mayor Jones leaves behind a legacy of service that will not be forgotten.

From all of us at Assisted Recovery Centers of America, thank you, Mayor Jones, for your service to Dellwood and for your commitment to the people you represented.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the entire Dellwood community.

Rest in peace, Mayor Reggie Jones.

Last night, we were honored to attend a fundraiser for Senator Brian Williams as he continues his campaign for St. Louis County Executive.

Brian has dedicated his career to public service and to making our communities safer, stronger, and more connected. It was inspiring to see so many friends, supporters, and community leaders come together to support his vision for the future of St. Louis County.

Wishing Senator Brian Williams and his team all the best as the campaign continues!

Why are we still losing so many lives to opioid overdoses when we have FDA-approved medications that can help?

In my latest article, “Why Naltrexone Is the Missing Link in Opioid Overdose Prevention,” Percy Menzies, M. Pharm., explains why our current focus on methadone and buprenorphine—both opioid substitution therapies—may not be enough in a landscape saturated with illicit opioids.

He explores:

Why MOUD has largely meant methadone and buprenorphine

The limits of Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) when illegal supply remains high

How naltrexone, a non-opioid antagonist, shifts the conversation from treatment to true prevention

Why naltrexone deserves a larger role alongside naloxone (Narcan) in overdose prevention strategies

If you’re interested in the future of opioid use disorder care—and how Medication-Assisted Prevention (MAP) could help reduce overdose deaths—you can read the full piece here:

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) have focused heavily on methadone and buprenorphine.
