BBBTYoga BBB Mindfulness & Yoga 4 Trauma is safe space for women to heal from their trauma experiences, without sharing our trauma stories. Be sure to check it out!

I offer gentle in‑home yoga and strength training for seniors, those with health concerns, and anyone new to exercise, focusing on comfort, confidence, and moving well at home. There is healing in being with others who understand why we think, feel, and behave the way we do. We offer yoga for C-PTSD and trauma, Yin Meditation, Chair and Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Book Club. There are several offeri

ngs for free under the free yoga offerings section on our website. Andra has been practicing yoga for over 19 years and meditation for well over 40 years. She has been a certified 200 RYTT and been teaching classes for over 7 years and holds a bachelors in psychology and a minor in theology. She believes that every person who heals has the capability to heal those they come in contact with. Healing creates ripple effects in our environment. She does not believe that people should have to go broke while healing themselve and many of her classes are offered on a donation bases and she is always willing to work with someone who needs financial consideration. Her main purpose in life is to see this planet heal. Civilizations have fallen in the past but for the first time it seems the entire world is falling apart. It is up to each individual to see that does not happen. It all begins with us healing ourselves.

I’m looking for six volunteers who are open to experiencing my intuitive energy‑healing work. Each person will receive six sessions over a 2–3 week period, completely free of charge. In exchange, I’m asking for honest feedback so I can refine and shape this offering as I begin bringing it forward professionally.

This is not Reiki, though some people say it feels similar. My work is something I’ve done instinctively since childhood — a blend of intuitive energy healing, shamanic‑like sensitivity, and the tools I’ve added over the years, including crystals and sound. If you’re curious, open‑minded, and able to commit to the full series, I’d love to include you.

Warrior I is one of the most familiar shapes in yoga, yet many people quietly dread it. Maybe the back knee feels strained. Maybe the low back feels pinchy. Maybe the shoulders tense the moment the arms go up. If Warrior I has ever felt uncomfortable for you, you’re not alone.

The good news is that the discomfort usually isn’t coming from your body — it’s coming from the way the pose is commonly taught. Once you understand what’s happening biomechanically, you can adjust the shape so it feels stable, grounded, and sustainable.

This post will show you exactly how to do that.

Over the next several weeks I am going to share with you several pranayama (breathwork) practices to help you release stress and feel more at home in your own body.

I want to start by sharing something important about breathwork that many people don’t realize. Box breathing is everywhere — people hear about it from therapists, the military, wellness apps, or friends who use it to calm down. Many people have tried it, and many have even taught it to others.

But almost no one has been taught Iyengar pranayama, even though it is the traditional yoga method designed to help the nervous system settle, soften, and become steady — the very things box breathing is supposed to help with.

This matters because box breathing is simple and widely promoted, but it wasn’t created for long‑term healing or trauma recovery. Iyengar’s method was. And yet most yoga studios don’t teach it, most trainings skip it, and many people have never even heard of it.

Understanding the difference helps you choose a breathing practice that actually supports your body, especially if you deal with anxiety, trauma, or chronic stress.

Over the next several weeks I am going to share with you several pranayama (breathwork) practices to help you release stress and feel more at home in your own body.

What are your thoughts about this?

Scientists say Earth is on track to become uninhabitable. Warming is increasing at an exponential rate — and far faster than predicted.

A scientific assessment published in the journal One Earth warns that key components of the planet’s climate system may be significantly closer to destabilization than previously thought. Crucial "tipping elements," including the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets, Arctic permafrost, and the Amazon rainforest, act as planetary pillars.

Once pushed beyond their critical thresholds, these systems can undergo irreversible changes, triggering a dangerous domino effect where one system's collapse accelerates another. For instance, melting Arctic ice exposes darker ocean surfaces that absorb more heat, which can weaken ocean currents, dry out the Amazon, and ultimately release massive stores of carbon back into the atmosphere.

This cascading feedback loop threatens to push Earth toward a "hothouse" trajectory—a state in which the planet continues to heat up even if humanity completely halts its greenhouse gas emissions.

While researchers cannot yet pinpoint exactly when these individual systems will tip, they stress that waiting for definitive proof is a dangerous gamble, as reversal will be impossible once the threshold is crossed. To avert this catastrophic chain reaction, scientists advocate for immediate cuts to fossil fuel consumption, stronger protections for carbon-storing ecosystems, and the rapid deployment of a global monitoring network to track these planetary tipping points.

After almost twenty years of teaching yoga, I have reached a clear and final decision: I will not register with Yoga Alliance again—neither as an instructor nor as a school offering Yoga Alliance–approved certifications. This decision comes from direct experience, repeated concerns, and a pattern of organizational behavior that no longer aligns with the integrity I expect in yoga education.

You don’t have to hold it all alone.

If you’ve been feeling the midweek burnout —
bracing for what might come next,
catching yourself holding your breath,
feeling like the world is too out of control and your body is too tense because of it —
you’re not the only one.

Trying to keep up with “normal life” while everything feels chaotic is a lot for any nervous system.
And most of us are carrying way more than we were designed to hold.

This is where somatic‑functional yoga and sound healing become real support.

These practices work directly with the central nervous system, helping shift you out of high alert (fight/flight/freeze) and into a state of calm, relaxation, and groundedness.
They ease stress, anxiety, and fear without excessive effort, without draining your limited energy, and without requiring anything more than showing up for yourself.

If your system has been asking for quiet, depth, and safety… this is your invitation.

I currently have three openings for new clients this month.

If you’d like to talk about what working together would look like for you — because every body and every nervous system is different — click Free Consultation below.
You can choose Zoom or in‑person, and either option is completely free of charge.

Your nervous system deserves a place to land.

✨ Free 60-Minute Wellness Consultation Let’s connect in person or through Zoom for a complimentary 60-minute session where we’ll: • Explore your personal goals and wellness priorities • Assess your current fitness level and overall health • Discuss how my approach aligns with your needs ...

I wrote this on my personal page, but I’m sharing it here as well because I think it matters.

I find it interesting that people are angry at Canada for their fires polluting our air. All the while Colorado and Minnesota are also on fire. I guess the smoke from those fires are contained to just those states? I rarely see concern for other people these days and compassion is truly lacking. We live in a society that is concerned more with personal comfort than the collective. This is how every society in the past has collapsed and became extinct. Yet, people fail to study history of past civilizations and so we keep repeating their mistakes. I do not understand why people want to spend so much time bashing other people's problems and how the other person's/countries problems are negatively impacting them - all the while the other side is suffering 100% more. But it is easier to bash what is out of our control (or anyone else's for that matter) than to come together as a society and figure out solutions. Wildfires happen because people start them due to mental illness, a mentally healthy person would not start a wildfire. Wildfires happen because there is not enough rain and the land gets too dry and winds make matters more dangerous. Yet, somehow we think complaining and attacking others over these issues is HELPFUL? It really saddens me when some of the people who are blaming Canda (while Minnesota and Colorado are still fighting their own fires), especially when those people are church leaders and leaders of their communities. What has happened to all of us?
