Join our virtual OCD Group Therapy program: A supportive four-week space to connect with others who understand, share experiences, ask questions, and build a sense of community with people facing similar struggles.

OCD is more than being organized, neat, or liking things a certain way.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts that create intense anxiety, often followed by compulsions meant to reduce that distress. These thoughts can focus on contamination, harm, mistakes, morality, relationships, or other deeply personal fears.

Effective, evidence-based treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) can help individuals break free from the OCD cycle and reclaim their lives.

"Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory, or an acceptance of the way things are. Instead, it's a celebration of progress. It's an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, things do get better. America can change."— Barack Obama

Today we mark Juneteenth, a day that reminds us freedom is not a finish line. It is a journey. And progress, even when incomplete, is worth pausing to honor.

That truth doesn't just belong to history. It belongs to your life too.

So often we wait until things are "fixed" to allow ourselves to feel good about where we are. We minimize how far we've come because we're focused on how far there is still to go. Juneteenth invites us to do something different. To stop. To acknowledge. To celebrate the distance already traveled, even while the road continues.

Progress is not settling. It is fuel. Let it carry you forward.

Summer doesn't have to be about doing it all. Between packed schedules, family commitments, vacations, and the pressure to "make the most" of the season, it's easy to put your own needs last.

This summer, give yourself permission to slow down, check in with yourself, and create routines that support your emotional, physical, social, spiritual, and mental well-being. This Pride Month, let these four words land somewhere deep: you are worthy of love. Not when you've figured everything out. Not when your struggles are behind you. Not when you've explained yourself enough times for others to understand. Right now, exactly as you are.

For so many in the LGBTQ+ community, and for others who feel "too much" or "not enough," the simple act of believing you deserve love can feel like the hardest work of all. But it is the work. And it matters.

If you've ever asked yourself "why can't I stop?" you're not alone, and it doesn't mean you're weak or not trying hard enough.

BFRBs like skin picking, hair pulling, and cheek or lip biting can become repetitive cycles that are difficult to interrupt. The behavior may temporarily reduce tension, provide relief, satisfy a sensory urge, or happen automatically without you even realizing it.

Shame, criticism, and pressure usually make the cycle worse rather than better.

Change often involves building awareness, learning new strategies, and approaching the behavior with patience rather than punishment. Support and treatment can help.

You know how powerful a narrative can be. How a single word like "broken" or "too much" or "not enough" can shape a life. But when did you last turn that lens on yourself?

Reflect on this past week:
What story did you tell yourself when something went wrong?
Did you extend the same compassion to yourself that you would offer to somebody else in that same moment?
Is there a word or phrase you keep returning to about who you are that might be worth examining?

Find one moment to own something that was hard this week without minimizing it or explaining it away. Say it out loud or write it down. Owning our story is not weakness. It is the whole point.

Summer break can bring fun and freedom, but for many neurodivergent children, it can also bring challenges.

The loss of school routines, structure, and support can lead to increased anxiety, emotional overwhelm, sleep disruptions, and meltdowns. While every child is different, maintaining some predictability during the summer can help children feel more regulated and supported.

Simple strategies like keeping consistent sleep and meal schedules, using visual routines, balancing activities with downtime, and supporting sensory needs can make a meaningful difference.

Remember: summer doesn’t need to be packed with activities to be successful. Rest, special interests, family connection, and unstructured downtime are valuable and often necessary for emotional regulation.

The Pause Between Sessions: A Moment to Return to Yourself.

You move from one hour to the next, holding space, tracking patterns, and staying present. But what happens in the transition? That two-minute walk down the hall, that brief exhale before the next thing on your schedule. Those moments are data too.

Mindfulness Tip: Build one intentional transition into your day. Even 90 seconds between meetings to shake your hands out, look out a window, or say your own name quietly. A small ritual that says: that was theirs, this moment is mine.
