Sean B Bailey MD, FACS Let ones passion be ones purpose… Sean Bailey, M.D., F.A.C.S., the son of general surgeon Dr. Drennan Bailey, was born in St. Louis, MO.

He then graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans. Upon completion of his undergraduate education, he was accepted into Tulane graduate School of Biochemistry, and later, the Tulane Department of Anatomy of Tulane Medical School. He completed Tulane Medical School’s Masters of Science-Medical Doctorate program in 1987. Elective study during that time included practicing tropical medicine in Jamaica under the auspices of the Tulane School of Public Health.

One of my cases today included a difficult airway that you see pictured above.This patient has history of multiple surgeries since childhood during a resident in a foreign country … my initial in office evaluation, suggested a history of laryngeal papillomatosis. Noted not only are the papilloma compromising thr airway, but also the webbing of the vocal folds anteriorly. 5 Laryngeal papillomatosis, also called recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, is a rare condition featuring benign, wart-like tumor growths on the vocal cords and larynx. It is caused by infection with low-risk human papillomavirus types 6 and 11.
