A lot of people learned to keep going no matter how they were feeling. And yes, this may help you survive, but it gives very little room to process. There’s a difference between pushing through and being okay.

Being the “strong one” looks good on the outside.

But a lot of times it means you don’t ask for help, you carry *it* all alone, and people assume you’re okay.

You can be capable AND overwhelmed. Both can be true.

So much of what feels confusing in relationships actually has roots in what you experienced early on. How you handle closeness, distance, conflict… none of it is random. It’s learned. And once you understand your patterns, you don’t have to stay stuck in them.

Many people have been told they are “too much” or they’re “too sensitive,” and we are almost always neither; we were simply never taught what to do with what we feel. There are reasons our emotions show up the way they do, and knowing why changes EVERYTHING.

There’s something magical that happens when a new therapist joins us in residence at the House. ✨

Ambra brings a kind of presence that helps you feel more you - seen, grounded, and gently invited into a deeper relationship with yourself and the people you love most.

Over the coming weeks, she’ll be sharing a series rooted in her voice and the heart of her work - little glimmers on moving from ideas to action, deepening self-trust, and finding your way back to your own voice in a world that can be noisy and out of alignment.
If your heart has been nudging you toward therapy lately, this might be your sign. ✨

Ambra has just a few spots remaining for new clients. Now is a beautiful time to begin.

Are you a lion who slightly roars?
Mighty once were?
All sorts of lions: paper, flesh, cartoon.
All sorts of things said to you, untrue.
Sooner painful to walk,
No strength, worn down, too weary to be,
And that limp I see.
Ready to play, eat, and roar?
This is what counseling is for…

At first, the lion pulled back from the hand that sought to bring healing. Would the paw stay infected, and the lion fade? Androcles was careful, remembering what he learned from the years spent on his farm.

Everyone has a name, so respect who they are. Be curious, and listen to understand. Adapt, because each is different in their own special way. Have compassion for the injured and lonely. See the lion in the lamb, and the eagle in the dove.

The lion looked at Androcles, then lay down. It was exhausted from its ordeal. But Androcles knew there was more work to do. It looked as if there was still a part of the thorn in its paw, and the wound was certainly infected. He gently approached the lion to take a closer look. The paw needed to be cleansed and bandaged for protection. Would the lion be vulnerable and accept his help? Androcles knew the deeper work could actually hurt more.

The lion let out a snarly yelp as it winced in agony. Androcles remained calm and actually moved nearer to reassure the suffering cat. The lion stood up and looked to the sky. Time stood still.

Androcles wondered what would happen next. Might the lion blame him for the pain he just caused, thinking he pulled the thorn out recklessly? Did the lion know that Androcles cared so much about its pain that he risked coming close enough to help?
