The "Grateful Hearts" team at the Foundation and all teams at Barnes-Jewish Hospital are proud to walk alongside survivors, supporters, and community to battle heart disease.

Last week’s Leading Edge Medicine event brought together important voices shaping the future of health care workforce development. 🩺

Thank you to Dr. Steven Player, Dr. Angela Clark, Misha-Renee Hart, Devin Macklin and Kimberly Neal-Brannum for sharing their perspectives on the growing need for compassionate, skilled health care professionals and how strategic pathways can help build a bridge between the classroom and the clinic.

We were grateful to host an event with such strong engagement and thoughtful questions from attendees throughout the evening that led to meaningful discussions around how we can continue supporting and strengthening the future of patient care.

Research supported in part by the Foundation is helping advance new hope for patients facing glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.

Researchers at WashU Medicine recently shared promising results from an early-stage clinical trial using a personalized vaccine designed to help the immune system recognize and fight each patient’s unique tumor. The study showed encouraging immune responses and the potential to slow tumor progression for some patients.

During Brain Tumor Awareness Month, we’re proud to support research working toward better treatments and brighter futures for patients and families impacted by brain tumors. 🩶

The Double Dutch Extravaganza brought the community together on May 16 for a day centered on movement, wellness and connection. Hosted by City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation, & Forestry at Wohl Community Center with support from BJC HealthCare and our partners, the event featured health screenings, physical activities, mental wellness resources and more for families across the region.

The Foundation is grateful to our corporate partners Ameren Missouri, The Cigna Healthcare Group Foundation, and Healthy Blue Missouri for their support of BJC’s Community Wellness Hub program and year-round programming, including events like the Double Dutch Extravaganza. Their partnership strengthens community-based prevention efforts, helping ensure families have access to prevention-based mental health support, healthy and culturally appropriate foods, youth development opportunities and supportive resources close to home.
