Yesterday, a significant milestone was celebrated with the groundbreaking of Evelyn’s House at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Expected to open in 2028, the new 12-bed hospice house will be the first dedicated hospice house in the City of St. Louis, bringing specialized end-of-life care closer to home for more patients and families.

Building on the success of the original Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, the new facility will provide a warm, home-like setting focused on comfort, dignity and quality of life during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

This important work is made possible in part by generous gifts through the Foundation, helping expand compassionate, patient-centered care for families across our community.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we recently had the chance to celebrate a major milestone: 40 years of the Siteman Cancer Center Mammography Van. 💗

For four decades, the van has helped bring breast cancer screening closer to home. It’s the longest-running mobile mammography program in the country—and The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital has proudly supported it from the very beginning.

Part of this celebration included the opportunity to meet Terri Coffman, who has served as a technologist for the van for all 40 years, starting with the very first one. Her passion is a beautiful reminder that behind every program and every number are people who make the impact possible.

Last Saturday, BJC HealthCare's Community Baby Shower brought together more than 100 birthing families, community organizations, clinical care teams, and volunteers to support new and expecting families across the St. Louis region. 💙

As part of the Foundation's commitment to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve, we’re proud to support an event that connects families with health education, wraparound services and essential maternal and infant care resources.

Thank you to the many partners including Healthy Blue Missouri, Home State Health, Together Credit Union, Evernorth Health Services, as well as our donors, colleagues, and volunteers who make moments like these possible!

Congratulations to the 84 Believe STL Academy juniors who declared their healthcare career pathways last week during the first annual Student Declaration Day! 🩺💙

The milestone marks an important step as students identify the healthcare careers they’re interested in pursuing and continue preparing to become the future caregivers our community needs.

Over the past several years, our Foundation team has been honored to help launch this first-of-its-kind initiative alongside BJC HealthCare, BELIEVE, and The Opportunity Trust. With a transformational gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies and generous donors through The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, students are gaining valuable exposure, training, and hands-on experiences to prepare for careers in healthcare.

Yesterday, we celebrated the opening of LIV Sober Living's new women’s recovery home, a meaningful step forward in supporting mothers and families in our region. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to Healthy Blue Missouri for its generous $500,000 investment and steadfast commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes. We’re also grateful to LIV Sober Living for bringing this vision to life with compassion and purpose.

Together with BJC Community Health Improvement and our community partners, we are demonstrating the power of partnership to advance maternal health, strengthen recovery resources, and create lasting impact in our community.

The Foundation was proud to sponsor the Honor Walkway, featuring custom signs honoring loved ones and the reasons riders showed up.

Together with our partner, Pedal the Cause, we’re proud to support cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and honor the people who inspire us to keep moving forward.

Bringing lifesaving cancer screening closer to the communities who need it. 💙

We’re proud to have helped make the new Siteman Lung Screening Van possible through a generous grant from the Foundation. The state-of-the-art mobile unit will bring low-dose CT lung screenings to communities throughout St. Louis and across Missouri, helping make early detection more accessible.

We’re honored to support innovative efforts that bring cancer screening beyond the walls of the hospital and into the communities we serve.
