Ever catch yourself leaning to one side without realizing it? Or notice one hip just feels "off" compared to the other?
Here's something most people never get told: when one hip drops lower than the other, your whole body compensates for it. Your trunk leans. Your knee takes on stress it wasn't built for. Your lower back starts working overtime just to keep you upright.
It's why so many people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s describe pain that "moves around." One day it's the hip. Next week it's the knee. Then it's the lower back again. It's not random. It's your body trying to adapt to an imbalance that's been building for years.

If your neck pain has started traveling down your arm, it is worth understanding why.

It usually starts small.
Stiffness or soreness in the neck that seems ordinary at first. Over time, it can change. The pain starts moving down the shoulder. The arm feels weaker than it used to. The hand goes numb or tingles, especially at night.

This pattern often points to cervical radiculopathy, which happens when a nerve in the neck becomes compressed or irritated. The further that nerve is affected, the more it can show up as pain, numbness, or weakness lower down the arm.

Many people assume this is simply a part of getting older, or that it will resolve on its own with rest. Once the pain has started traveling, it usually needs to be addressed at the source rather than just managed where it shows up.

Understanding where the problem begins is the first step toward real relief. If this sounds familiar, we would welcome the chance to help you understand your options with a complimentary MRI review.

A lot of people think it is a shoulder problem, an elbow problem, or "just getting older." Often, it starts right at the neck.

Cervical radiculopathy is what happens when a nerve gets pinched or compressed in your cervical spine (that's C1 to C7 for those keeping score).

The result? Pain, numbness, or weakness that can travel all the way down your arm into your hand.

If this sounds like what you have been dealing with, give us a call at 314-546-4444. We would be happy to walk you through what might be going on.

Ever wonder why your neck pain keeps radiating down into your arm? This is why.

Cervical radiculopathy, a pinched or compressed nerve root in the neck, is the root cause behind the vast majority of chronic neck pain cases we see at Saint Louis Disc Center. It happens when a disc bulges or herniates and presses directly on the nerve as it exits the spine, sending pain, weakness, or numbness down the arm.

The good news: this is exactly what our non-surgical spinal decompression protocol is built for. We treat this condition every day, and we're seeing over 90% success getting patients out of pain without surgery or injections.

If your neck pain comes with tingling, numbness, or weakness in your arm or hand, don't ignore it. Reach out and let's find the root cause.

Herniated disc. Bulging disc. Degenerative disc disease.

These terms get thrown around a lot, but they do not all mean the same thing, and they do not all respond to the same treatment.

Here is the simple version. Your spinal discs act as cushions between each vertebra. Over time or after an injury, a disc can bulge, herniate, thin out, or degenerate, and any of those changes can put pressure on nearby nerves. That pressure is usually what causes the pain, numbness, or tingling that sends people looking for answers.

Most people start with physical therapy or injections. Those can absolutely help manage symptoms. But if the disc is still compressed, the pain often comes back once treatment stops.

Non-surgical spinal decompression takes a different approach. It is designed to gently reduce pressure within the disc, creating the conditions for the disc to retract and relieve pressure on the nerve.

If you have already tried the conventional route without lasting results, it may be worth understanding exactly what your MRI shows before considering anything more invasive.

We offer a complimentary MRI review to walk you through it.

Do you know the difference between a bulging disc and a herniated disc?

Most people use those terms interchangeably. They are actually two very different problems, and the distinction matters a lot when it comes to your treatment options.

Here is a simple breakdown using the image above:
A healthy disc is hydrated, thick, and acts as a shock absorber between your vertebrae. When a disc degenerates, it loses that cushion. When it bulges, the outer wall starts to press outward. When it herniates, the inner material actually breaks through that outer layer and can press directly on a nerve.

That nerve pressure is why so many people with disc problems feel pain, numbness, or tingling all the way down into their legs, feet, or hands. It is not just a "back problem."

If you have tried physical therapy, steroid injections, or pain medication and still are not getting lasting relief, it is worth looking at what is actually happening inside your spine.

We offer a complimentary MRI review at St. Louis Disc Center.

It simply sits outside the typical referral system, so most patients never hear about it until they go looking on their own.

Think about every treatment you've been offered for your back or neck pain.

Physical therapy. Muscle relaxers. Steroid shots. Maybe nerve blocks. And eventually, the conversation turns to surgery.

Every one of those follows the same insurance-covered path. And if you're reading this, that path probably hasn't gotten you where you want to be.

Here's what almost never comes up in those appointments: non-surgical spinal decompression. It's not that your doctors are keeping it from you.

It simply sits outside the typical referral system, so most patients never hear about it until they go looking on their own.

Decompression works differently than everything on that list. Instead of masking the pain or cutting out the problem, it gently relieves the pressure on the disc itself so your body has a chance to heal.

Before you schedule another injection or sit down for a surgical consult, find out if you're a candidate. We'll review your MRI at no cost and give you a straight answer.

"I've heard about spinal decompression. But how do I know it will work for me?"

Fair question. Because if you've already been through physical therapy, steroid injections, and months of pain management, the last thing you need is another generic treatment.

Here's how we do things differently.

We start with your MRI, not a sales pitch. We look at exactly what's happening with your discs and nerves before we recommend anything. If decompression isn't right for you, we'll tell you.

If it is, we build a plan around your specific condition. A herniated disc gets treated differently than degenerative disc disease. Sciatica gets treated differently than neuropathy. Your protocol is yours alone.

Then we use the AccuSpina system, technology that reads your body's response and adjusts in real time. No constant pull. No tense muscles fighting the treatment.

Just gentle, controlled pressure relief that lets the disc heal from the inside.
And because we measure your results session by session, you're never left wondering if it's working. You'll see it.

That's the difference between hoping for relief and following a system designed to create it.

Your back pain might be following you into the bedroom.
And nobody is talking about it.

77% of men with lumbar disc herniation experience some degree of erectile dysfunction.
Read that again.

It is not in your head. It is not just stress. It is not "getting older."
When a disc in your lower back compresses the nerves that control blood flow below the waist, your body cannot do what it used to do. And the fallout goes way beyond physical.

The distance growing between you and your wife. The excuses. The confidence that used to come naturally, gone. You start avoiding intimacy because you are afraid of another disappointment. She starts wondering if it is her.

It was never her. And it might not even be "you." It might be your spine.
Chronic back pain does not stay in your back. It bleeds into your marriage, your mood, and how you see yourself as a man.

The first step is finding out what is actually going on in your lower back.

Click the link in the comments or DM the word "DISC" and we will help you get your confidence back.

Being a man means taking care of yourself so you can take care of the people around you.

"Degenerative disc disease." Three words that make most people think surgery is inevitable.

It's not.

Here's what's actually happening: the discs between your vertebrae lose water and cushion as you age. They shrink. The space between your vertebrae gets smaller. And when that space closes in on a nerve, you feel it. In your neck, your lower back, even shooting down into your arms or legs.

Sound familiar?
Pain in one hip, one leg, or one foot is one of the most common signs.

If you've already tried physical therapy, injections, and pain meds without lasting relief, you're not out of options. Non-surgical spinal decompression gently relieves pressure on those compressed discs and nerves, no drugs, no needles, no surgery.

You have waited long enough.

Comment or DM the word "DISC" and we'll set up your free MRI review at our St. Louis office.
