Your posture on the toilet may be making it harder to fully empty your bladder 🚽

If you’re hovering, slouching hard into a rounded posture, gripping your muscles, or rushing through your bathroom trip, your pelvic floor muscles may not fully relax… and that can interfere with bladder emptying.

Sometimes simple changes like sitting fully on your sit bones, leaning slightly forward, relaxing your belly, and taking a few deep breaths can make a big difference.

If you constantly feel like you still have urine left behind, pelvic floor physical therapy can help uncover the “why” behind your symptoms. Save & share with someone who is always running back to the bathroom.

Always rushing to p*e and then feeling like your bladder still isn’t empty? 🚽

Your bladder and pelvic floor muscles need a little time to coordinate and fully relax. When you sprint to the bathroom, hover over the toilet, push, or try to finish as quickly as possible, it can actually make bladder emptying less efficient.

Instead, try slowing down, sitting fully on the toilet, relaxing your belly and pelvic floor, and taking a few deep breaths while you go.

If incomplete bladder emptying is a regular struggle for you, pelvic floor physical therapy may help uncover the root cause. Save & share with someone who is always in a hurry on the toilet 👀

“How long will recovery take?” 🤔

It’s one of the most common questions we hear about prolapse surgery—and the answer surprises most people…

👉 Healing takes months, not just a few weeks.
While incisions heal quickly, your deeper support system needs time—and how you move during that time matters.

Common mistakes we see:
⚠️ Doing too much too soon
⚠️ Avoiding movement out of fear
⚠️ Returning to exercise too early
⚠️ Straining with bowel movements

In our latest blog, we break down what to expect—and how pelvic PT helps you recover with confidence 🙌

If you want guidance before or after surgery, Legacy Physical Therapy is here to help.

Feeling like you can never fully empty your bladder? 🚽

It may not just be your bladder… it could be your pelvic floor muscles.

Your pelvic floor needs to relax in order for urine to flow out efficiently. If those muscles stay tight, tense, or overactive, it can feel like you still have urine left behind, cause hesitancy, or have you running back to the bathroom again shortly after you just went.

The good news? Pelvic physical therapy can help improve pelvic floor muscle coordination and bladder emptying. Save & share with someone who needs to hear this.

IBS management is rarely a one-person job. 👏

Because IBS doesn’t just affect the gut. It can involve the digestive system, nervous system, stress response, pelvic floor muscles, breathing patterns, food triggers, sleep, movement, and more.

That’s why the best IBS care often takes a TEAM approach. Depending on your symptoms, your support team may include: • Gastroenterologist. • Pelvic floor physical therapist. • Dietitian/nutritionist. • Mental health provider. • Primary care physician

At pelvic PT, we commonly help people with the “musculoskeletal” side of IBS symptoms: ✔️ Pelvic floor tension. ✔️ Constipation. ✔️ Difficulty emptying bowels. ✔️ Abdominal pain. ✔️ Pressure management. ✔️ Breathing coordination. ✔️ Nervous system downtraining

You deserve care that looks at the whole picture — not just one piece of the puzzle.

Save & share with someone navigating IBS symptoms who may need more support than they’ve been offered so far. 💛
