🧠 Traditional Antidepressants Not Working for You?

In the U.S., over 30 million adults take antidepressants — but up to 1 in 3 still struggle with symptoms. That’s potentially 3 to 6 million people living with treatment-resistant depression (TRD).

⚠️ Many don’t find relief from standard meds alone — but there’s hope.

🌟 Newer treatments like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato (Esketamine) are showing higher response rates in people who haven’t improved with traditional antidepressants.

These options are FDA-approved and offer new hope for long-standing symptoms.

It’s time we moved beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. 💙

💙 Top 5 Things Everyone Should Know About Depression 💙

1️⃣ It’s more than sadness.
Depression affects mood, energy, sleep, appetite, and motivation—not just emotions.

2️⃣ It’s common.
An estimated 1 in 5 people will experience depression at some point in their life.

3️⃣ It can be invisible.
Many people with depression appear “fine” on the outside while struggling inside.

4️⃣ Treatment works.
Therapies like CBT, medications, TMS, and Spravato can make a life-changing difference.

5️⃣ You are not alone.
Support is available. Recovery is possible. Reaching out is the first step.

💡 If you or someone you care about is struggling, know that help exists—and hope is real.

Remembering 9/11 🇺🇸

On this day, we pause to honor the lives lost and the heroes who stood strong on September 11, 2001. While the nation remembers, we also acknowledge the lasting emotional impact of trauma.

For many, the weight of grief, anxiety, and depression lingers long after the event. These struggles are real, but so is the possibility of healing.

At Restore Brain NeuroHealth, we provide innovative treatments like TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and Spravato (esketamine therapy) to help those facing treatment-resistant depression find relief and hope again.

💙 Just as our country rebuilt after tragedy, individuals can also rebuild their mental health. You are not alone—healing is possible.

🌟 Treating Depression Can Be Depressing 🌟

The landmark STAR*D trial revealed some tough truths about major depression:
🔹 Many people need multiple treatment trials before finding remission.
🔹 Even after remission, about 1 in 3 relapse within a year.
🔹 CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) was shown to be just as effective as medication in many cases.
🔹 Depression is often chronic, and needing several attempts is a normal part of recovery.

💡 The takeaway? Recovery is possible—but it often takes persistence, patience, and personalized care.

📊 Evidence of Effectiveness

FDA-Cleared Treatment – Repetitive TMS (rTMS) has been FDA-approved since 2008 for treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (MDD).

Response & Remission Rates – Clinical trials and meta-analyses show that about 50–60% of patients with treatment-resistant depression respond (meaning symptoms are cut in half), and about 30–40% achieve full remission after a standard course of TMS therapy.

Durability – Many patients maintain improvements for months, especially with maintenance sessions. Some require booster treatments to sustain benefits.

Comparisons – TMS generally has higher response rates than placebo/sham treatments and is a safe alternative for those who don’t tolerate or respond to medications.

Newer protocols – Intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) is a newer, FDA-cleared form of TMS that can deliver treatment in as little as 3–5 minutes per session, compared to the traditional 20–40 minutes, with similar efficacy.

✅ Advantages

Non-invasive (no surgery, no anesthesia required).

Few systemic side effects (most common: mild scalp discomfort or headache).

Does not cause weight gain, sexual side effects, or sedation like some antidepressants.

Can be combined with medication or psychotherapy for greater effectiveness.
