At Quiet Waters Hospice, caring for our community goes beyond hospice care β it also means helping families stay informed and aware of important health concerns affecting the world around us.
Recently, there has been increased public attention surrounding Hantavirus, a rare but serious illness linked to exposure to infected rodents and their droppings. While the risk to the general public remains low, awareness and prevention are important for everyone.
We encourage our community to:
β’ Keep living areas clean and free of rodent exposure
β’ Use caution when cleaning garages, sheds, storage buildings, or vacant properties
β’ Wear protective gloves and masks when cleaning potentially contaminated areas
β’ Stay informed through trusted healthcare and public health sources
β’ Monitor ongoing updates without panic or fear
At Quiet Waters Hospice, we believe knowledge, preparedness, and calm awareness help keep our families and communities safe. During times of uncertainty, compassion and education matter.
Please continue practicing good hygiene, environmental safety, and checking on your loved ones β especially seniors and medically fragile individuals.
With care and compassion,
Quiet Waters Hospice
