Our inaugural Dissection Club is officially in the books! 🦴

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Orthopaedic Foundation Bioskills Lab for an evening of hands-on anatomical exploration!

From the shoulder to the fingertips, participants had the opportunity to explore upper extremity anatomy through guided cadaveric dissection, connecting anatomical knowledge with real-world clinical applications.

We loved seeing the curiosity, engagement, and enthusiasm for learning throughout the evening!

This is just the beginning! Stay tuned for details on upcoming Dissection Club sessions.

What if you could get back in the lab without a lecture, a course agenda, or someone telling you what you have to cover?

That’s the idea behind The Drop In, our new hands-on Dissection Club at the Orthopaedic Foundation.

This month’s focus: Upper Extremity; Shoulder to Fingertip.

Explore anatomy. Practice an approach. Refine a technique. Ask questions. Spend your time on what you want to learn.

No lectures. No rigid agenda. The time is yours.

📅 This Friday, October 9 | 5–8 PM
📍 Orthopaedic Foundation Bioskills Lab | NYC
👥 Limited to 24 participants

There are some people who come into your life through work, and somehow, along the way, become family.

Tommy was one of those people.

After working together for so many years, Tommy became so much more than a colleague to me. He became family to us. We shared so many years, so many laughs.

Tommy bravely fought cancer for more than three years, and through it all, he never lost his incredible zest for life. He loved Vegas, Italian food, and, most of all, making the people around him happy. Tommy found so much joy in doing for others. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He gave so freely, cared so deeply, and never hesitated to be there for someone who needed him. That kindness, that generosity, and the way he made people feel loved will be his greatest legacy.

It is hard to imagine this world without him. We are heartbroken that he is gone, but so grateful that we had the privilege of knowing him, working beside him, and laughing with him

Tom Tom-
You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. ❤️

Last week, we wrapped up another incredible High School Medical Immersion Camp! 🩺✨

To close out the week, we welcomed parents to the lab to see everything their students had been learning and practicing. From hands-on medical skills to interactive demonstrations, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all of the hard work, growth, and confidence the students gained throughout the program.

Thank you to our students, families, and staff for making this year’s camp such a memorable experience. We can’t wait to see all that these future healthcare professionals accomplish! 💙

Yesterday was a packed day from morning to night!

We welcomed back Dr. Lisa Corrente, MD, a globally recognized expert in regenerative and aesthetic medicine, and board-certified in diagnostic radiology.

In the afternoon we were honored to have our Board member Kevin Rocco, Founder & CEO of Biorez, a medical device startup that invented, developed, and commercialized the BioBrace Implant; acquired by Conmed in 2022. Our students were able to see how the Biobrace worked in action in the lab.

We ended off the night with an incredible dinner.

Yesterday was an intense day. We started with Vascular surgery, and trauma management with a focus on amputations led by
Dr. Bill Johnson, MD and Dr. Molly Ratner, MD.

A Special shout out to Dr. Johnson who has supported this program and educating the future generation of clinicians from the start of this program.

In the afternoon we transitioned to head dissections, and even performed facelifts. Thank you to our Senior Lab manager Christopher Rish and Lab technician Adina Shamieva for your guidance.
