Dalton Miller, 57, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Lexington Veterans Hospital, following a courageous two-year battle with colon cancer.

Dalton dedicated his life to serving others. A proud United States Army Veteran, he honorably served his country for more than two decades, including deployments during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following a distinguished military career, he retired from the Army in 2006.

While continuing in the National Guard, Dalton continued his life's mission of helping people through a career in social work. He often described social work not as a profession, but as a ministry. Through his work, he helped countless children find loving homes through adoption and provided hope and support to families during difficult times. Even after retiring from social work in 2018, his commitment to helping others never ended. He remained a source of encouragement, guidance, and compassion to all who knew him.

Dalton's love for his community led him into public service. He served as a Stanford City Councilman before being elected Mayor of Stanford in 2020, a position he faithfully held until his passing. Dalton often said that being Mayor was his favorite job he had ever held and that it never felt like work—even on the most challenging days. He loved the people of Stanford and was passionate about making the community a better place for everyone.

Known for his exceptional leadership, warm personality, and genuine care for others, Dalton was a natural people person and a gifted manager who brought people together. He consistently put the needs of Stanford and its citizens first, earning the respect, admiration, and affection of those he served. His impact on the city will be felt for generations, and his legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will forever remain a part of the Stanford community.

Dalton was also a faithful member of Lancaster First Assembly of God, where his faith guided his life and his service to others. His Christian witness was evident in the compassion he showed, the relationships he built, and the countless lives he touched.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Dalton's life stands as a testament to faith, sacrifice, service, and love. He leaves behind a grateful community, cherished family members, dear friends, and countless individuals whose lives were made better because of his presence.

His memory will be treasured, his example will continue to inspire, and his legacy of servant leadership will never be forgotten.

Marty J. Carrier, 61, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Born on April 14, 1965 in Danville, KY to Billy Carrier and Joann Baker Tudor. He was a member of Preachersville Methodist Church. During his career Marty worked as a maintenance technician for American Greetings and Hitachi.

He lived life in the fast lane—sometimes literally—and left a mark everywhere he went. A true lover of all things sports, he could be found cheering on basketball and football, or out hunting. But perhaps his greatest joy was investing in others, especially kids. He dedicated time to coaching youth football and baseball, shaping not just athletes, but young lives.

He had a need for speed and a passion for engines, spending countless hours riding and racing dirt bikes, motorcycles, and cars. In one unforgettable moment, he even raced at the legendary Bristol Speedway—where, true to his fearless spirit, he flipped the car and crashed out. While he didn’t finish the race, he always had a great story to tell. Above all, he loved God and his family deeply. He was the kind of man who brought people together—whether it was through cooking, dancing, singing karaoke, or stepping behind the DJ booth to keep the music going. A natural entertainer, he was often at the center of family gatherings, making sure everyone was laughing, fed, and having a good time. He was incredibly talented and could build or fix just about anything he set his mind to. From restoring old cars—like his prized 1976 Stingray Corvette—to crafting sweets as an impressive candy maker, his creativity knew no bounds. But more than anything, he will be remembered for his heart. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need without hesitation. His kindness, humor, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Serrano Carrier; mother, Joann Tudor (Jackie Tudor-Deceased); father, Billy Carrier (Nita); six children, Joshua Carrier, Heather Carrier, Matthew Carrier (Beth), Jordan Payne, Marranne Conge (Mike Sulfridge) and Evan Conge; seven siblings, Mark Carrier, Kayla Carrier Johnson (Timmy), Robin Lynn (Debra), Misty Lynn, Nick Tudor (Heather), Tammy Kirkpatrick (Todd) and LouAnn Tudor (Brian Mayfield); four grandchildren, Carlie Carrier, Amber Payne, Mia Carrier and Reid Carrier; seven nieces and nephews, Justice Carrier, Atlas Johnson, Ardyn Johnson, Emily Ogle, Lane Ogle, Chelsea Cooper and Preston Hatter.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jackie Tudor.

A one-day service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Charles Hazelwood and Bro. Daryl Hodge officiating.
