Rosen Place on 8th Assisted Living

Rosen Place on 8th Assisted Living Rosen Place on 8th Assisted Living provides a much-needed additional service to the residents of Stanley and Mountrail County.

Our Mission:
To provide residential style accommodations and individualized support services to meet the occupant’s needs and abilities to maintain as much independence as possible. Rosen Place on 8th is organized under the Mountrail County Medical Center umbrella and is connected to Mountrail Bethel Home, Mountrail County Medical Center Hospital & ER, Reiarson Clinic, Ina Mae Rude Aquatic & Fitne

ss Center, and Centennial Court Independent Living. Assisted living facilities are a popular choice among seniors because they provide a level of independence with around-the-clock access to personal care services. Assisted living facilities allow seniors to enjoy social interaction and an overall better quality of life compared to unassisted living arrangements when assistance is needed. With the addition of Rosen Place on 8th to the Mountrail County Health Center’s Campus, we’ll be able to offer a full continuum of health care services as we become a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).

Q: Why get blood work done?

A: Blood work can give you and your healthcare provider a closer look at your overall health. Getting regular blood tests can help with early detection of certain health problems like diabetes, heart disease, or thyroid malfunction.

Even when you feel fine, having routine lab work done is an important part of staying proactive about your health. Talk with your provider about what blood work may be right for you. 🩺

🩸ALSO, make sure to take advantage of MCHC's DISCOUNTS* on a variety of labs during your birthday month (or the following month)! So if you have a birthday in July or August, make a plan to stop in soon!

No appointment required — just stop in any time during the hours of 8am-4pm M-F.

*Must pay with cash or check only.

☀️ Hot weather can be dangerous—especially for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and those with chronic health conditions.

As temperatures rise, take a few simple steps to protect yourself and those around you:

💧 STAY HYDRATED! Drink plenty of water throughout the day
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned spaces when possible
🌳 Limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
🧴 Use sunscreen and take breaks in the shade
👵 Check on older neighbors, family members, and friends
🚨 Know the warning signs: dizziness, heavy sweating, nausea, headache, confusion, or fainting

Note that heat stroke is a medical emergency. CALL 911 right away if someone is confused, loses consciousness, or has a very high body temperature.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and take care of one another this summer. 🩵

Today is World Lung Cancer Day — a day to bring awareness to lung cancer and reduce the stigma associated with it.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the US, accounting for about 1 in 5 of all cancer deaths. Common risk factors include:
⭕ Smoking or breathing secondhand smoke
⭕ Exposure to carcinogenic materials like radon or asbestos
⭕ Air pollution
⭕ Family history
(This is not an exhaustive list.)

Luckily, there is a screening available for those who are at risk of developing lung cancer. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends yearly lung cancer screening with Low-Dose CT for people who:

✔️ Have a 20 pack-year* or more smoking history, AND
✔️ Smoke now or have quit within the past 15 years, AND
✔️ Are between 50 and 80 years old.

(*A "pack-year" means smoking an average of one pack of ci******es per day for 1 year. For example, a person could have a 20 pack-year history by smoking one pack a day for 20 years or two packs a day for 10 years.)

If you think you may be at risk for lung cancer, call us to schedule a screening today — 701-628-2424. It's quick, painless, and can help catch lung cancer early.
