❗️INSURANCE UPDATE❗️

Good news!

For patients with Blue Cross Blue Shield, I should be able to submit claims effective 8/1/2026.

For patients with Sanford Health Plan, claims can be submitted effective 9/1/2026. I know that's still a bit of a wait, but trust me - this is pretty quick for Sanford. 😅

If you have an upcoming appointment with me, you can text a picture of your insurance card to me at 701-800-0045, otherwise just bring it in to your next appointment.

EDIT: BCBS Expansion and NextBlue will have different effective dates since they are processed with additional addendums and approval forms involved with Medicare and Medicaid. I may be able to backdate Expansion plans, but do not guarantee this. NextBlue does not backdate.

As we start submitting, please bear with me since there are administrative things I will have to learn as I go with my new software as well. I will prioritize getting everything set up in my clearinghouse as soon as possible so we can submit visits as smoothly as possible.

I am so excited to offer products from Lowcountry Littles in my clinic!

Thank you all for being so on the ball with your intakes! Absolute ROCKSTARS.

I know it’s a little tedious to do intake forms again, but let me explain.

Chiropractors are healthcare providers. Even if you think your medical history may not be relevant, I promise you we need to know everything and we’re not just asking all these questions for amusement.

There are a plethora of causes for what may appear as simple musculoskeletal pain, and we have to be able to make our list of differential diagnoses. Thankfully, most of the time it is musculoskeletal.

> Your right ankle fracture from 3 years ago may affect your gait and tell me more about where to look for compensation functionally, which may present as your chief complaint.

> Your hysterectomy from 40 years ago may affect your bone density, changing the technique I treat you with.

> Your tingling in your left arm paired with what seems like indigestion, shortness of breath, or chest pain? Might not be your rib, but a call for an ambulance.

I’m not trying to scare anyone, but these are a few of many examples of why we need a full medical history.

If you want high quality care that is tailored to you, I need high quality intakes. The more you leave off of a health history, the more risks you take.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend celebrating the best country on earth! 🇺🇸

Just a reminder while I hit the ground running this week with the new practice- it’s only me now. Please be patient with me as I try to balance both reception and doctor duties.

While I see patients, my priority and full attention is the patient in front of me.

That being said, I am still able to glance at my texting system between patients and during flips flops on the table.🤭

Texting is probably the easiest way to get inquiries to me and fastest way to get a response during my adjusting days.

Don’t forget you can use the Jane app to schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments as well!

❗️ATTENTION ALL INSURANCE PATIENTS❗️

Until further notice, I have to operate as a cash practice. I will not be able to submit to your insurance until my practice is fully credentialed and my provider contracts transfer.

My contracts include:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Sanford
- Medicare
- Medicaid

This could be a few weeks or a few months. I’m sorry the timeline isn’t clear. I have outsourced all of my credentialing to a fantastic company that will be able to get this done much quicker than I can.

Until then, here are your options:
- Continue to see me for care paying the non-insurance rates
- Wait to see me until I can accept your insurance again (and/or see another chiropractor that accepts your insurance in the meantime - most of you are already established with Premier in Minot so this is a great option!)
- Call your insurance to see if you can personally submit your visits on your own for reimbursement

If you are already booked with me, I have been working on calling and texting to confirm if you’d like to keep these appointments knowing this information.

I am so sorry for any inconveniences this causes.

Again, it could just be a very short-lived temporary issue, but it’s difficult to get solid answers for the processing time with each company. I also can’t make any guarantees that we can backdate insurance submissions, so just expect that you will pay cash rates that will not be processed or go towards your deductibles.
