We were definitely in the MOOOOOD...for ice cream 🍦
If you've never driven to Riverbend Creamery, it's absolutely worth the trip. Not only is the front porch inviting, the view is picturesque and all those flavors of homemade ice cream=bliss. We celebrated a birthday, an anniversary and a beautiful day to enjoy a sweet summer treat.

Our Activity crew was out of the building today exploring new techniques and trends for Dementia care sponsored by the North Carolina Activity Professionals Association. We are grateful for the opportunities to attend continuing education to better serve our seniors. Who said professional development has to be boring 🤷🏻‍♀️

We had such a “berry” good morning strolling around, shopping at the Gastonia Farmers Market. It was our first time here and everyone went home with a bag of goodies! If you didn’t know, they are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays right now for your shopping pleasure! 🍑🍞💐🥒

Community outreach sometimes looks like planting flower arrangements and serving ice cream. We are so thankful for these hands and feet of Christ from First Presbyterian Church - PCA - Stanley, NC for coming today to interact with our seniors. Please make a special trip to Mike's Growers Outlet to support our local businesses that partner with us. The flowers were amazing!💜

Our residents and staff were honored to show support to Operation Helo today as they practiced landing their helicopters in our parking lot. This amazing group works to drop supplies and evacuate people during emergency situations like Hurricane Helene and have partnered with STLC as a source of assistance should we ever be in that same type of need. Special thanks to Clint Hartness who is one of Operation Helo’s volunteers—his precious dad is one of our residents who, along with everyone else, was in awe of this event today!! Please be sure to check out Operation Helo online and donate if at all possible to this great organization!!! ❤️❤️

Our facility libraries are getting an overhaul! Thank you to those of you who have dropped off books so far and please KEEP 'EM COMING!
We are currently accepting donations for paperbacks or hardbacks. Please consider donating to us if you have books that are in good shape and a topic you think our seniors would enjoy. Drop them off at the front office between 8:30-4:30 OR ship them directly to us Attn: Activities Dept. Our avid readers thank you! 💜📚

Thank you to every single person who took time to vote for STLC in the 2026 Community Choice program—your votes once again named Stanley Total Living Center as the BEST Senior Living facility in Gaston County and we couldn’t be more proud!! We are also proud to say that WE have the BEST Physical Therapist—Angee Lockman ❤️. While we did not win in the other categories (Best Employer, Best Place to Work, Best Nurse- Sandra Mull, Best Nurse-Candice Bess, Best Boss-Jennifer DeFelice, and Person of the Year-Tim Barton), being in the top 3 for each one is still such an honor and it is our privilege to continue doing what we do every single day and knowing that even without a plaque….we ARE the very best in of the best at doing what we do for the very best residents, families, and staff ❤️. And a very special congratulations to STLC’s friend Jerry Whitlock who won Best Community Servant ❤️❤️
