Mary Ann White, age 91, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Mount Sterling Health and Rehabilitation in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. She was born on Wednesday, July 4, 1934, in Rosslyn, Kentucky, to the late Everett Anderson and the late Chessie Halsey Anderson. Mary Ann was a proud graduate of Powell County High School and furthered her education at the University of Kentucky, earning a degree in education. She dedicated her professional life to teaching, serving as a high school math instructor with the Montgomery County Board of Education. Over the span of three decades, she profoundly impacted the lives of countless students at Montgomery County High School, earning their affection and respect through her engaging teaching style and unwavering support. A devoted member of the First Christian Church of Mount Sterling, Mary Ann actively participated in the Hazelrigg Sunday School Class. She was also involved with the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, where she connected with fellow educators who shared her passion for teaching. Mary Ann had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, exploring fascinating foreign countries and visiting all 50 states. She loved reading and was passionate about genealogy, eagerly researching her family's history. Mary Ann's enthusiasm for life extended to her love of Kentucky Basketball, and she enjoyed lively card games that brought family and friends together. Always meticulous and remarkably organized, she had a cheerful disposition that brightened the days of those around her. Mary Ann cherished moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nurturing them with love and guidance. Above all, she was a faithful and loving wife to her late husband, Charlie, embodying warmth and devotion in every facet of her life. Mary Ann's legacy as an educator, traveler, reader, and family matriarch is a testament to her vibrant spirit and the positive influence she had on those lucky enough to know her. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Charles Woodford White, Sr.; one son, Charles Woodford White, Jr.; and one nephew, Floyd Clay Anderson. She is survived by two grandchildren, Mark Clay (Tara) White, and Mary Lynne Knox, both of Mount Sterling; three great-grandchildren: Aubrey Lynne Knox, Teagan Jameson White, and Kaelyn Addison White; her daughter-in-law, Kim Bowen White (Earl) Johnson of Mount Sterling; two nephews, Dale (Teresa) Anderson, and Dwain (Nellie) Anderson, both of Stanton. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Scott Holley, will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. immediately following visitation. Burial will be held at Machpelah Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, with Brandon Lawson, Clayton Anderson, Carson Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Shawn Skidmore, Dale Anderson, Jr., Gregory Skidmore, and Morgan Anderson serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Anderson, Sr., Dwain Anderson, David Fields, and the Mount Sterling First Christian Church Hazelrigg Sunday School Class. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.

Betty Ruth Roberts, age 89, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Centerpoint Health in Wi******er, Kentucky. She was born on Monday, August 3, 1936, in Lee County, Kentucky, to the late Lennox Brewer and the late Sadie Centers Brewer. Betty was a wonderful mother and homemaker who created a loving home for her family. She would pick beans from the garden that her husband tended and took great pleasure in canning the produce. Betty loved preparing special meals, often making some of her family’s favorites, such as poke stalks, mashed potatoes, pickled corn, chocolate pie, and every Wednesday, a batch of her famous soup beans. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and had a fondness for collecting duck figurines. With her delightful and contagious laugh, Betty radiated joy to those around her. She was dedicated to her Christian faith and faithfully attended Morris Creek Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by five brothers: Woodrow Brewer, Edward Brewer, Ola Brewer, William Denvil Brewer, and Orbie Brewer; and four sisters: Lorena Byrd, Gaythel Lowe, Opal Compton, and Viola Treadway. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Sherman Roberts of Stanton; three sons: Glendale Ray (Pam) Roberts of Florence, Bobby Lee (Vickie) Roberts of Veronia, and Tony Sherman Roberts of Boston, Massachusetts; two daughters: Pamela (David) Jones and Sherry (David) Traugott, both of Stanton; one brother: Paul Winfred Brewer; one sister: Christina Derickson; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Kevin Chaney and Bro. Frank Hackworth will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. immediately following visitation. Burial will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Stanton, with Joshua Wilson, Raymond Roberts, Travis Roberts, Dillon Jones, Martin Anderson, and Jackson Combs serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Winfred Brewer and Christina Derickson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.

Gregory Willis Jones, age 57, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Centerpoint Health in Wi******er, Kentucky. He was born on Tuesday, February 18, 1969, in Wi******er, Kentucky, to the late John Paul Jones and Glenda Carroll Jones. Greg worked as a Mold Technician at Infiltrators Water Technology, where he demonstrated dedication and applied his skills. He was a proud member of the Stanton Masonic Lodge #352 and Stafford Lodge #562. Greg was also affiliated with the York Rite Masonic Bodies Red River Chapter #191, Red River Council , Wi******er Chapter #12, Wi******er Council #75, and Wi******er Commandery #30. Additionally, he was affiliated with the Scottish Rite Valley of Lexington, Lexington Consistory #4. In his free time, Greg thrived in the great outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and racing four-wheelers in his younger days. He was a skilled carpenter who took pride in building projects that showcased his craftsmanship. Known for his humor, Greg loved making others laugh and, above all, cherished time with his family, creating joyful and lasting memories. In addition to his father, Greg is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Shane Jones. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Jones of Clay City; one son, Paul Jones of Clay City; one daughter, Sarah Jones of Clay City; one sister, Tanya (Charlie) Pasley of Wi******er; one nephew, Grant Fraley; and two nieces, Casey Pasley and Rebecca Fraley. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky, with Masonic Funeral Rites at 7:00 P.M. Robert Lynn Roe, age 80, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home in Clay City, Kentucky. He was born on Sunday, April 14, 1946, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Richard Roe and the late Lorraine Jackson Roe. Robert was an experienced truck driver who dedicated his career to the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where his reliability and skill behind the wheel were well-known. For a decade, he also put in hard work at Camargo Salvage Yard, showcasing his exceptional mechanical abilities. Outside of work, Robert had a deep passion for fishing, often crafting his own lures to enhance his fishing trips. He found joy in the thrill of dirt track racing, driving his race car for over ten years, where he relished the adrenaline of competition. Known for his jolly demeanor, Robert had a knack for humor and light-heartedness, often bringing laughter to those around him. He was a devoted Kentucky Wildcats fan, passionately cheering for his team. His support extended beyond sports; he enthusiastically encouraged his children in all their athletic endeavors, always present at their games and practices. As a talented mechanic, Robert enjoyed tinkering with cars, taking pride in fixing and customizing them. He was also known for his wisdom, offering thoughtful advice to friends and family, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Frances Elaine Baker, and two brothers-in-law, Carl Raymond Baker and Rondal Davis. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Roe of Clay City; two sons, Robert (Leslie) Roe II of Jeffersonville, and Curtis (Jennifer) Roe of Clay City; one daughter, Carol Sue (Ricky) Faulkner of La Grange; nine grandchildren: Bobbi (Devon) Roe, Zebadiah (Hayleigh) Faulkner, Rebecca (Brennen) Faulkner Ball, Lyndsey (Frank) Spencer, Curtis (Bekah) Thomas, Levi Roe, Nathaniel Roe, River Roe, and Jason Smallwood; eight great-grandchildren: Courtney Barnett, Gavin Hall, Caleb Hall, Presley Spencer, Reid Spencer, Ezra Faulkner, Lydia Faulkner, and Alexa Bradshaw; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Stephen Donithan will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M., immediately following visitation. Burial will be held at West Bend Cemetery in Clay City with Zebadiah Faulkner, Curtis Thomas, Levi Roe, Gavin Hall, Caleb Hall, and Frank Spencer serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Reese Foster. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
