Harvested some Wild Lettuce and Purple-top Verbena this morning from my wild farm-acy (my backyard)… that’s a 5-gal bucket packed full! 😲

Wild Lettuce is called nature’s o***m because of its mild sedative and powerful pain relieving effects.

Verbena can work as an antiparasitic, anti inflammatory, and relieves anxiety.

I stocked my apothecary with 3 quart jars stuffed with dried yarrow, ready for whatever bug bite or boo-boo the summer brings.

Let’s talk Sow Thistle! This w**d we’ve been cutting down for years is actually medicinal!
The seeds, flowers, leaves, and younger stems can be rinsed, cut & dried, and steeped to make an effective treatment for inflammation, bronchitis, liver function and even helps maintain blood pressure for some. 🤓
So think twice about mowing these great medicinal plants down. 😉

Let me tell ya bout ‘Stinging Nettle’! 😖
We have this nasty stuff growing rampant! Named appropriately for its ability to make you feel like you’re being feasted on by fire ants, the sting doesn’t easily let go.
Well! This lil pest that we’ve been fighting & mowing down for years has some fantastic medicinal qualities.
It treats; allergies, arthritis, eczema, burns, sprains, anemia, and much more.
It can be made into a tincture, tea, infusion, or can be eaten 😳 (after you blanch to get rid of the ‘sting’)
I harvested about 2+ gallons today and after cutting and mashing the leaves, I was only able to fill a quart jar. Now the infusion process begins! 🤓👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 can’t wait to try this lovely undervalued gift. 🌱
*warning- the sting goes through heavy duty textured latex gloves* 😬 😣
