šŸ‘¶ Monarch as babies!! šŸ’™

Believe it or not, these little faces grew up to become the people helping others navigate emotions, practice self-care, set boundaries, and take those first brave steps toward healing.

From playing with dolls and making messes to helping clients make sense of life’s challenges—everyone starts somewhere. 😊

Can you guess which Monarch therapist is which baby? šŸ‘€šŸ‘‡

Drop your guesses in the comments, and we’ll reveal the answers tomorrow!

Why do people with ADHD lie?

It’s easy to assume lying is about manipulation, disrespect, or not caring. But for many people with ADHD, it can be connected to impulsivity, shame, and years of being corrected, criticized, or constantly ā€œin trouble.ā€

This blog takes a compassionate look at why honesty can feel hard for some people with ADHD — and how therapy can help build tools for slowing down, repairing trust, and moving out of shame.

Uncover the reasons why people with ADHD lie. Learn how impulsivity and fear can lead to misunderstandings in communication.

ā˜•ļø Building Connections in Our Community

This morning, our co-owner, Amanda Coleman, and our newest clinician, Whitney Cox, had the opportunity to attend the Greater Starkville Partnership’s Business at Breakfast event.

We always enjoy these gatherings because they remind us how fortunate we are to be part of such a supportive and connected community. Every time we attend, we leave with new relationships, fresh ideas, and an even greater appreciation for the local businesses and organizations that make Starkville such a special place.

The event was also a meaningful opportunity for Whitney to reconnect with many familiar faces. Before joining Monarch Counseling & Wellness, Whitney was actively involved with the Greater Starkville Partnership through her work with CCS, and we were excited to help reintroduce her to the community in her new role with our practice.

Pictured with Amanda and Whitney is Hunter Harrington from the Greater Starkville Partnership.

Thank you to the Greater Starkville Partnership for continuing to create opportunities for local businesses to connect, collaborate, and grow together. We’re grateful to be part of this community and look forward to continuing to build relationships that help strengthen the Golden Triangle.

Joy is not just something we feel when life is easy.

Joy can help us stay connected to hope, meaning, and one another — especially during difficult seasons. It reminds us what matters, who we love, and what helps us keep going when life feels heavy.

Our newest blog explores the importance of cultivating joy, why it matters for mental health, and practical ways to notice and build more joy into everyday life.

Cultivating joy is essential for a meaningful life. Discover how joy sustains us through challenges and enhances relationships.

What a week it has been at Monarch!

On Wednesday, we had the opportunity to participate in the community meet and greet hosted by The Pines and Cady Hill Recovery Center, and on Thursday we joined Paccar for their Mental Health Fair for employees. We also held our first staff meeting with Whitney Cox, LPC, and officially got to welcome her to the Monarch team!

And to top it all off, our Best of the Golden Triangle certificate and banner arrived, and our banner is now proudly displayed at our Columbus office.

We are so grateful for the chance to connect with our community, support local mental health efforts, and continue growing our team. Lots of exciting things are happening at Monarch, and we’re thankful to have you all cheering us on along the way!

Human trafficking isn’t something that ā€œjust happens somewhere else.ā€
It’s happening right here in Mississippi—and often in ways people don’t expect.

Many victims are trafficked by someone they know, not a stranger.

If we’re going to protect our communities, we have to understand what’s actually happening.
