💜 Meet Vera! 💜

Vera is a sweet and adventurous 6-year-old girl from Northern Cambria who just started 1st grade! While she may be a little shy at first, once she gets to know you, her fun-loving personality shines through and she's always ready for the next adventure.

Vera was born with Holt-Oram Syndrome, a genetic condition that affects the development of the upper limbs. Although she needs some assistance with everyday activities, Vera doesn't let that slow her down. Vera is set out on her own adventure to become fully independent! She is now just looking for someone that will help get her there!

Vera is looking for a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to:
✅ Accompany her to school
✅ Assist with daily tasks and fine motor skills
✅ Encourage the use of adaptive equipment
✅ Help promote independence while supporting her growth and development

Working with Vera is more than just a job...it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact in a child's life while sharing in her daily successes and adventures.

September is Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month!

Muscular dystrophy (MD) refers to a group of diseases that cause progressive muscle weakness and loss of muscle mass. Symptoms and severity can vary, with some individuals experiencing signs in childhood and others later in life. While there is currently no cure for MD, increased awareness and understanding can help foster support for those affected.

This month, we stand alongside the individuals, families, caregivers, and communities impacted by muscular dystrophy. Together, we can promote compassion, encouragement, and hope for everyone navigating this journey.

Born at 22 weeks gestation, Aunyx has been a fighter from day one. He came home from the hospital with oxygen, a g-tube, and a laundry list of medications. His mom felt overwhelmed at first. But that feeling didn’t last long, thanks to Nurse Vania.

Vania's expert care and calm presence immediately put his family at ease. Vania helps Aunyx thrive at home and helps his mom balance the needs of a medically fragile newborn with the needs of her four older children. Her care is truly invaluable.

We are excited to see Aunyx continue to grow and are so grateful to Vania for the impact her compassionate care makes every day!

Bauer was born at just 22 weeks gestation, and the progress he's made at Aveanna is a true miracle.

He began services after he was discharged out of the NICU. After coming home with a tracheostomy, ventilator, and a g-tube for feeding, his family sought stability for their son's complex care journey. Nurse Christy was their answer, supporting Bauer's family through setbacks and celebrating his victories over the years.

"Nurse Christy has walked alongside us through some of the hardest seasons of our lives," said Bauer's family. "Thank you for believing in Bauer and for caring for him in a way that went far beyond your job title. You will always be a part of his story.”

As Bauer graduates from services at Aveanna and continues to grow into a busy, thriving boy, his next adventure is already on the horizon: the start of Pre-K! We cannot wait to see all the amazing things he'll continue to do.

💙 Make a Difference in Alex’s Life — LPNs Wanted in Huntingdon, PA!

Meet Alex! He’s a 21-year-old young man who is looking for a compassionate LPN/RN to join his care team and become part of his Aveanna family.

Alex lives with his mom and three siblings and receives care in the comfort of his home. Because of his medical needs, he has a tracheostomy with intermittent mechanical ventilation and receives his nutrition, fluids, and medications through a G-tube.

✨ We’re looking for:
• LPNs/RNs interested in part-time, PRN, or weekend overnight shifts
• Nurses who are compassionate, dependable, and want to make a meaningful difference
• Experienced nurses are welcome, but you don’t have to know everything on day one!

Aveanna provides case-specific training and orientation shifts in the home to help you feel confident and prepared to care for Alex.
