You went to bed on time and got a full 8 hours. So why do you still feel exhausted? 🫩

The truth is that the amount of sleep you get is only part of the equation. Poor sleep quality, stress, an inconsistent schedule, sleep debt, or even an undiagnosed sleep disorder can leave you feeling tired no matter how long you spend in bed.

Tap the link in bio to learn more about the common reasons people feel tired all the time and what you can do about it.

Most people think Alzheimer’s begins when memory problems appear.

The scary truth?

Research suggests changes in the brain may begin decades before the first symptom is noticed.

In this fascinating discussion with leading neurologists, several lifestyle factors consistently emerged as being associated with better long-term brain health:

✓ Regular exercise, including walking and strength training
✓ A nutrient-dense diet rich in leafy greens and plant foods
✓ Quality sleep that supports the brain’s natural cleaning processes
✓ Stress management and emotional wellbeing
✓ Lifelong learning, social connection, and cognitive challenge

One framework they discussed is called NEURO:

N = Nutrition
E = Exercise
U = Unwind (manage stress)
R = Restorative sleep
O = Optimize your brain through learning and connection

Perhaps the most important takeaway:

Brain health isn’t built by one supplement, one medication, or one “hack.”

It’s the result of small daily habits repeated over years.

Which of these do you think has had the biggest impact on your own brain health: exercise, sleep, nutrition, stress management, or lifelong learning?

On June 4, New York City Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, Dr. Helen Arteaga, visited Richmond University Medical Center to thank the hospital staff on behalf of Mayor Zohran Mamdani for its response to the waterfront explosion on May 22 that killed one person and injured 40. The majority of individuals cared for at RUMC were members of the Fire Department of New York City.

Following the explosion, RUMC ambulances were dispatched to the scene in Mariners Harbor and 20 individuals, mostly FDNY, were transported to RUMC for treatment. RUMC is a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, equipped to handle the most serious health emergencies and mass casualty incidents.

The Deputy Mayor was welcomed to RUMC by hospital leadership and staff from the emergency department who cared for the injured the evening of the explosion. The Deputy Mayor presented a City Citation to RUMC on behalf of Mayor Mamdani.

The Deputy Mayor was joined by Yesenia Mata, commissioner of the New York City Department of Veterans’ Services; Dr. Mitchell Katz, president and chief executive officer for New York City Health + Hospitals, and New York City Council Minority Leader David Carr.

The Deputy Mayor was also provided with a tour of RUMC’s Emergency Department, named for former Staten Island Borough President James P. Molinaro, by the hospital’s Chair of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Johnathon LeBaron.
