September 3 brings Moon meets Uranus energy, and this is where the story can change in one electric instant. Uranus rules surprises, sudden news, liberation and the plot twists that arrive completely outside the plan, while the Moon brings everything straight into emotions, relationships and intuition.

In the days ahead, expect the unexpected in the best possible way. An out-of-the-blue blessing could arrive, surprising contact may change the atmosphere, or one conversation could reveal a possibility you never knew existed. Someone may reappear differently, an answer can arrive faster than expected, or a destined encounter could connect you with something your heart has been hoping for.

Uranus reminds us that destiny has routes we cannot always predict. What seemed settled can change overnight when new information appears, circumstances shift or somebody finally acts on feelings they have kept hidden.

As the weather begins to cool, we draw the warmth of the sun deeper into our Spirit and into our hearts and home. Your hearth is the heart of the home. Some think of this as the fireplace, but I like to think of the hearth as the central spirit of sacred space. Consider your own heart and your hearth during your self-guided retreat but also for this fall season. This is a time of transition. We are moving from the Summer season where life is full of celebration and social activities into a period of preparation before Winter, a natural letting go. If you think about farming and agriculture, during this season we are harvesting the hard work seeded in the Spring and we are preparing our crops and gardens for the frost of Winter. This preparation entails pruning and clipping. At this time we are getting rid of the old, harvesting the riches and securing our literal or internal gardens for the rich slumber of Winter, yet another part of our cycle to be expanded upon later.

August 27–28 brings a dramatic lunar eclipse to the night sky, but how much you see will depend on where you are in North America.

During the event, Earth’s shadow will move across the Moon, covering as much as 96.2% of its surface at maximum eclipse. That will leave only a small bright portion visible while much of the Moon takes on a deep copper-red color.

The best views will depend on your location.

Parts of the East Coast and Midwest are expected to have the opportunity to follow the eclipse through its major stages, while observers farther west may see only the earlier phases before moonset.

For viewers in central parts of North America, the timing could allow them to catch the most dramatic part of the eclipse.

The good news is that lunar eclipses are completely safe to watch with your naked eyes. Unlike a solar eclipse, you don’t need special protective glasses.

Binoculars or a telescope can make the Moon’s craters and changing colors even more impressive, but they’re not necessary.

So check your local moonrise and moonset times, watch the weather, and find a spot with a clear view of the sky.

One night.

One Moon.

And almost the entire lunar surface disappearing into Earth’s shadow.
