Bray, DMD and Young, DMD

Bray, DMD and Young, DMD We commit ourselves to provide the highest quality dental care in an atmosphere of concern for each patient’s individual needs. Bray, DMD, & Young, DMD, P.C.

was established in 1990, but we have been practicing in Statesboro since 1986. Dr. Bray and Dr. Young have been married since 1983 and are blessed with 3 children. A family-oriented practice has been their goal from the beginning. They desire to be the primary dental care providers for every member of a family from birth through their golden years. However, there is no requirement that every famil

y member be a part of the practice. Both Dr. Bray and Dr. Young accept referrals from other dentists for specific services or limited periods of time. Dr. Young frequently cares for only the children in a family when the parents are established with another dentist. Those children generally transfer to their parent’s dentist at an appropriate time. Our expected outcome is to establish and maintain good dental health for the entire family. Dr. Young has gifts and passion for dealing with children that is truly amazing. Dr. Bray enjoys the variety of general practice and helping his patients achieve dental health. Our Purpose:

“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2

We commit ourselves to provide the highest quality dental care in an atmosphere of concern for each patient’s individual needs. We commit ourselves to provide this high quality of dental care for fees that reflect our skill and expertise and that will yield a reasonable return for our services.

Baby teeth don't just help children chew and smile. They also hold the proper space for permanent teeth developing underneath. When a baby tooth is lost earlier than expected, nearby teeth may begin to shift into the open space. In some cases, Dr. Young may recommend a space maintainer, a small dental appliance designed to keep that space open until the permanent tooth is ready to come in.Protecting that space now can help support proper tooth alignment and prevent more complicated dental concerns later.

Between school supplies, sports schedules, and getting everyone back into a routine, it's easy to make sure everyone else is taken care of first. Don't forget about your own smile.

Preventive dental care is one of the easiest ways to protect your oral health and catch small concerns before they become bigger, more costly problems. While you're scheduling appointments for the kids, consider checking your own cleaning and exam off the list, too.

Baby teeth may be temporary, but they're incredibly important! They help children eat, speak, and hold space for their permanent teeth.
When a cavity spreads to the center of a baby tooth, it can reach the nerve and increase the risk of infection. In these cases, Dr. Young may recommend pulp therapy, a treatment that removes the damaged tissue and places a medicated filling to help preserve the tooth until it's ready to fall out naturally.

If your child is complaining about tooth pain or sensitivity, don't wait to have it evaluated. Early care can make all the difference! 💙🦷

New backpacks, sharpened pencils, packed lunches…and healthy smiles ready for a new school year! ✏️🦷
As families settle back into busy routines, it’s a great time to make sure brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits stay on the schedule. Consistent habits at home help protect your child’s teeth, while routine cleanings and exams give us a chance to monitor their growing smile and catch concerns early. 🍎

Even a single missing tooth can affect more than just your smile. It can change the way you chew, impact your speech, and allow neighboring teeth to shift over time.

In many cases, a dental bridge is an excellent solution. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by anchoring a custom-made replacement between the healthy teeth on either side, creating a secure, natural-looking restoration.

If you're living with a missing tooth, we're happy to discuss whether a dental bridge is the right option for your smile.

Hot summer days can leave you dehydrated, and that doesn't just affect the rest of your body, it can affect your smile, too.

Saliva plays an important role in washing away food particles and neutralizing acids that can lead to cavities. When you're dehydrated, your mouth produces less saliva, increasing your risk of dry mouth and tooth decay.

💧 Make water your drink of choice this summer, and sip throughout the day to help keep your smile healthy and hydrated.

Healthy smiles start young!

That's why Dr. Young and our team love visiting local daycare centers to teach children about caring for their teeth in a fun, engaging way. Using puppets, models, and interactive demonstrations, we help little ones learn proper brushing habits and show them that visiting the dentist can be a positive experience. We also provide helpful take-home information for parents and caregivers!

If you're a local daycare interested in scheduling a visit, we'd love to meet your students!
