This week we’re celebrating birth centers, midwives, the families who choose this model of care, and the communities that make it all possible.

For 15 years, we’ve had the incredible privilege of walking alongside families as they grow, through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond.

Let’s give it up for Elena, 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 our August employee of the month!! Elena is our welcoming committee! She checks in patients, verifies their insurance, and talks to patients on the phone throughout the day! She’s always so helpful with a great attitude. We are so grateful that she’s part of our team!! Here’s a bit more about her:

“Hey! my name is Elena. I am the familiar face and voice you hear and see when you check in! The Lord led me to Natural Beginnings about a year ago, and it was one of the best decisions I could’ve made! One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing all of the babies, pediatric patients and mommas that come through our doors! The happiness and smiles on their faces is what brings me joy! I have been abundantly blessed with this job, the best boss and coworkers, and patients!

I am a momma to 4 boys! Paxton, Lincoln, Corin and Nick! Two second graders, a seventh grader and an eighth grader! My life stays wild!

My husband Aaron is my biggest supporter! We have been married for two years, but together for 6!

When i’m not at work, you can find me on the baseball field or soccer field, or worshipping my little heart out at Church.

I can’t thank everyone enough for allowing me the honor of being employee of the month!

Let’s continue with fun facts this week!
Yes. Babies are sometimes born on the toilet!

So naturally, we made our staff guess how many we’ve had over the last year.

🚽 The answer: 18!

One of the beautiful things about physiologic birth is that there isn’t one “correct” position for pushing.

Upright positions, squatting, hands-and-knees, side-lying, the birth stool….and yes, even the toilet can help create space in the pelvis and allow you to follow what your body is telling you to do.

And the toilet has a special superpower: we’ve spent our entire lives learning to relax our pelvic floor there. Sometimes that’s exactly what a laboring body needs.

From August 1, 2025- July 31, 2026 babies have been born:

Pool- 222
Bed- 120
Car- find out tomorrow!
Floor- 20
Toilet- 18
Shower- 7
Birth Stool- 4

Biggest baby vs. smallest baby of the year! 👶⚖️

We asked our team to guess the weights…and now for the reveal:

🤏 Smallest: 5 lbs 9 oz
🥰 Biggest: 11 lbs 0 oz

And let’s talk about that BIG baby for a second, because estimated fetal size can create a whole lot of anxiety during pregnancy.

Baby’s estimated weight is just one piece of the clinical picture. Late-pregnancy weight estimates aren’t exact, and your care team considers many factors when talking with you about the safest plan for birth.

So tell us, what did YOUR biggest baby weigh? We have a feeling there are some impressive numbers out there. 😂
