In 2024, there were 4 8 , 8 2 4 deaths by su***de in the US. A su***de attempt happens every E L E V E N minutes.

We asked the team at Iredell Davis to share some facts about mental health. Their answers may surprise you.

👉 ANYONE can have a mental break at any point with no past history.
👉 Mental health concerns do not discriminate based on age.
👉 Mental health treatment/issues aren't signs of weakness.

Did you know that post-exposure rabies treatment typically involves four treatments?

Today, while some members of our team were taking care of families at Iredell Memorial Hospital, others packed up and headed to a local assisted living facility to bring follow-up treatment to patients there.

If you or a family member attended an event where rabies exposure was possible during the period of interest, please contact the Iredell County Health Department After-Hours Emergency Line at 704-878-3037.

Our staff has worked tirelessly over the weekend to ensure patients affected by the recent rabies exposure have the care they need. From ordering supplies to scheduling follow ups to making sure we have just the right stickers for our brave pediatric patients, we are here for you and your family.

As of this morning, Iredell Health is leading the region with the number of individuals treated. 💉

If you or a family member were potentially exposed to rabies during the period of interest, please contact Iredell County Health Department After-Hours Emergency Line at 704-878-3037. Following a public health assessment during this call, you will be directed on how and where to receive rabies prophylaxis.

Recent information regarding potential rabies exposure connected to a local mobile petting zoo may leave many families with questions. Public health officials are actively investigating and notifying affected individuals.

While rabies is a serious disease, it is also preventable when potential exposures are identified and treated promptly. Rabies is transmitted through the saliva of an infected animal, and symptoms may not develop right away. It's important not delay care or wait for symptoms to appear.

At Iredell Memorial Hospital, our Emergency Department is prepared to evaluate potential rabies exposures and provide appropriate treatment. Our team is ready to help guide patients through the process and provide the expert care our community depends on.
