People come for the animals. Safety depends on the planning they never see.

Long before the first visitor reaches toward an enclosure, organizers should know which standards apply, develop a rabies vaccination plan with a licensed veterinarian, and know what happens if an animal is exposed to rabies.

Hand Soap Recall!

Several hand soaps are being recalled because they may be contaminated with bacteria, including Pseudomonas and Serratia species.

These bacteria can cause infections, especially in people with weakened immune systems or when they come into contact with broken skin.

The recall, first initiated in June by Intercon Chemical Co., concerns six different varieties of soap that were distributed largely to wholesale outlets across 15 states, including Wisconsin.

Check your soap’s brand, lot code, and best-by date against the FDA recall listing. If you have a recalled product, stop using it.
