Thinking about downsizing?
Here’s one place not to start:
The box of old photographs.
That’s usually how a two-hour organizing project turns into an afternoon of memories and very little organizing.
Start somewhere easier instead.
The linen closet.
The bathroom cabinets.
The kitchen drawer with four spatulas in it.
Build a little momentum before you get to the things that are harder to let go of and remember, downsizing doesn’t mean getting rid of everything you love. It means deciding what fits your new space.
At The Village at Mint Spring, that next chapter can also mean fewer things you have to keep around in the first place. No mower. No snow shovel. No garage full of equipment for maintaining the house.
What room would be easiest for you to tackle first?
