βοΈ Beat the Heat: Stay Hydrated & Stay Healthy!
With temperatures soaring, staying hydrated is one of the most important things you can do for your body. Even mild dehydration can lead to headaches, muscle cramps, fatigue, dizziness, and decreased physical and mental performance.
Here are a few simple ways to stay hydrated during this extreme heat:
π¦ Drink water consistently throughout the day, don't wait until you're thirsty.
π₯€ If you're sweating heavily from work, sports, or being outdoors, replenish electrolytes with a low sugar electrolyte drink.
π Eat water-rich foods like watermelon, strawberries, cucumbers, oranges, and lettuce.
βοΈ Limit your time outdoors during the hottest part of the day (typically 10 AMβ4 PM).
π« Cut back on excessive caffeine consumption, which can contribute to dehydration.
π Wear light-colored, breathable clothing and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning when possible.
At our office, we know that your muscles, joints, and nervous system function best when your body is properly hydrated. Water helps keep muscles working efficiently, supports healthy discs between your vertebrae, and aids in recovery after activity.
Take care of yourself, check in on family members and neighbors, and don't forget your pets, they need plenty of fresh water too!
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and have a safe week!
