I just got a call from my lawyer and Social Security approved me for disability! 🎊 I applied for disability a year ago this month and now it's been approved. Having a lawyer the moment I submitted my application to Social Security made all the difference. Too many people wait until their application has been denied before getting a lawyer. I am so thankful everything was easy and straightforward and that this is all behind me now. All thanks to Almighty God and my wonderful lawyer! 🙏🙌🙏🙌

I've always been blessed that I can make friends very easily wherever I go. I can go out to stores, restaurants, doctor's offices, hospitals, etc. and strike up a conversation with people and make friends. It's truly a wonderful gift to have and I have always been thankful for it. Since I had to retire due to my health and am no longer able to drive I was laughing with my son yesterday because I made friends with the registration lady yesterday, and the two ladies that did the modified barrum swallow study, and the kind gentlemen that pushed me in my wheelchair there and back. I told my son that I feel like a puppy when I go out because I'm so excited to be out and around people that I'm talking to everyone and making friends with everyone. 😆😆😆

Just spoke with my physical therapist's supervisor and she agreed with me that I should have the wheelchair that National Seating and Mobility says that I should have along with the Luci system installed on it. She said that she will talk to her and have her fix what she sent to my doctor's to sign off on. She agreed with me that yes, we need to think about the future a little bit and plan for it, but that my physical therapist also needs to be focusing on the here and now, and helping me maintain my independence and quality of life. I'm so thankful that she took the time to listen to me and was helpful. In the meantime, she also agreed that I should be able to keep the power chair that I currently have until I can get the other one, and if insurance won't pay for the other one, then let me keep the one I have. 🙂

I love this quote so much. I hope you love it too and that it blesses you. ❤️

Yesterday my physical therapist arranged to get me a wheelchair ramp delivered immediately from the company that they use. The lady came out and installed it. She told my son that I am only contracted by my physical therapist to have it for 6 months. My son asked her why because I am permanently disabled and I will still need a wheelchair ramp after 6 months. The person that installed it told him that my physical therapist told them that I will no longer need it after 6 months due to how fast my illness has been progressing! So apparently my physical therapist is a pessimist and either thinks that I will be completely bed ridden by that time and won't need a wheelchair ramp or that I will be dead. So very nice of her! 😠 Perhaps this is the real reason she is pushing for hospice. She told me that it would be helpful to have all the services that they provide coming into the home. I definitely agree with it and I'm all for that. However, I think after what she told the wheelchair installer her real reason is something else entirely! Either way, it's shaken me up a little and had me a bit upset. I'm trying hard to not let it get to me but it's hard not to when a medical professional is saying these things behind your back.
God alone knows what my future holds and not my physical therapist. I hope and pray that I am not bedridden 6 months from now and I most certainly hope that I'm still alive in 6 months. I have always been a realistic person but at the same time I am also an optimistic person. I don't think it does anyone any good to go around with rose colored glasses on but it also is very unhealthy to be a pessimist. It's important to keep a healthy balance in life. My life has been in God's hands since the moment I was conceived and it will be until I take my last breath on Earth and my first breath in Heaven. My number of days on Earth are written in His book.
She is also resisting me having a power wheelchair and trying to take that way and refusing for me to have the wheelchair that National Seating and Mobility says that I need with the Luci system on it for the same reasons. She's pushing for me to have a regular wheelchair even though I have told her that my doctor has said that I need a power wheelchair. Since the guy from National Seating and Mobility slowed down my wheelchair it is much safer for me to use. I have told her that but she continues to ignore me. I'm not impressed with her at all!
