Back-to-school season is exciting, but it can also bring anxiety, nerves, and a lot of big feelings, especially for kids and teens. π
Whether they're worried about new teachers, friendships, academics, or just the change in routine, a little check-in from a caring adult can make a big difference.
A few ways to open the conversation:
π¬ "What are you most looking forward to about school?"
π¬ "What are you feeling nervous about?"
π¬ "Is anything on your mind that you want to talk through?"
π¬ "How can I help you feel ready?"
Watch for signs of anxiety or stress:
Changes in sleep, appetite, or mood
Withdrawing from friends or activities
Physical complaints like stomachaches or headaches
Difficulty concentrating or new fears
