Marilyn Whaley Fussell, 77, of Hope Mills, NC passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 in UNC Hospitals.

Marilyn leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 44 years, Mike Joseph Fussell, Sr.; sons, Tony Hughes and spouse Charles Allen Register, Jr of Eastover; Joseph Brandon Fussell Jr of the home; daughters, Risa (Rico) Rodriquez of Grays Creek; Lisa Minnick of Hope Mills; Tonia Hughes of Fayetteville; stepchildren, Joseph Michael Fussell, Jr of Williamsburg; Joe Anna Winfrey of Spring Lake, NC; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Freedom Biker Church, 455 Rock Hill Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312. Officiating will be Senior Pastor JD Tew. A graveside service with follow at Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy 117 North, Watha, NC.

RoseMarie Irene Mitchell Bixby, 85, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 in her home with her family by her side.

She was born on April 11, 1941 in Pennsylvania to the late William and Stella Mitchell. She was one of eleven children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Rose was the loving and nurturing wife of her beloved Bud for nearly 64 years, following five years of dating.

To Rose, family was everything. She raised three incredible daughters and took great pride in helping raise her ten amazing grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always put the needs of others before her own, her love, guidance, and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

Rose was a homemaker and, together with her husband, owned two small businesses throughout the years both before and after retiring from the textile industry. She was a dedicated softball mom, cheering on countless young girls through the years and even playing a little herself. Former bowler, she enjoyed competing in a Tuesday morning league where she ranked high and was especially proud of her accomplishments there.

She loved dancing the polka, was an enthusiastic UNC Tar Heel basketball fan, and could often be seen riding her Carolina blue golf cart. Above all, Rose found her greatest joy in cooking and baking for her family and friends. Thanksgiving and Christmas were especially meaningful to her because they brought everyone together...

Thomas V. Kelly, 71, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on July 15, 2026. He faced his prolonged battle with illness with courage, his humor, and never a complaint about the cards he had been dealt in life.

Tow was born in Fayetteville, where he remained throughout his life. He was the son of loving parents, Fred and Mary Kelly and was raised alongside his older brother, Hampton.

Tom greatly enjoyed the outdoors. Being in nature was always the key to his happiness. From gardening to motorcycle riding with friends, he was happy if he was outside. Pursuing his passion for water sports such as surfing or windsurfing he spent many happy days at the coast. Fishing was another long time love of Tom, especially with close friends at Lake Tillery.

Tom held several different jobs during his lifetime, but his prized his work with the Department of Agriculture the most.

Those who know Tom will remember his gentle nature, humor and kindness.

He is survived by his brother, Hampton (Lorie). He will be interred at Lafayette Memorial Park.
