A memorial visitation for 69 year old Janet Faye Pierce of Gosnell, Arkansas will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home, 122 E. Main Street, in Steele, Missouri.

Janet Faye Pierce, 69, of Gosnell, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2026. Born on June 27, 1956, in Charleston, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Max and Ruth White.

Janet was known for her outgoing personality and her gift for connecting with people. For many years, she worked as a dealer at the casino, where her quick mind, talent with numbers, and friendly nature made her well suited for the job. She enjoyed visiting with people and never met a stranger.

She also enjoyed spending time with family, sharing stories, and appreciating life’s simple pleasures. Those who knew her will remember her warm smile, her independent spirit, and her ability to make others feel welcome.

Life’s journey took many turns, and while some relationships were separated by time and distance, family remained an important part of her story. During her final illness, she was surrounded by the care, support, and compassion of loved ones who helped ensure her needs were met and that she was comfortable in her final days. Their kindness and willingness to honor and care for their mother reflected the biblical promise found in Ephesians 6:2, “Honor thy father and mother,” a blessing that continues through generations.

One of the blessings of Janet’s later years was the opportunity to spend time with family and create meaningful memories. She found joy in seeing younger generations grow and took comfort in knowing that bonds of love can endure despite the passage of time. Her family will cherish those moments and the reminders of her affection that remain with them.

Though there were years that could never be reclaimed, her family finds comfort in knowing that conversations were shared, hearts were opened, and peace was found. Many friends and family members had meaningful conversations with Janet during her final days. They take comfort in believing that she had made her peace with God and was ready to meet Jesus. That assurance brings peace to those she leaves behind.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Pierce; her parents, Max and Ruth White; her son, William Kevin Warren; her brothers, Ricky Hise, Sammy Hise, Alfred Hise, O.J. Hise, Arnold Hise, and Ray Hise; and her sisters, Leona Hise and Georgia Hise.

She is survived by her children, Melvin T. Warren of Blytheville, Arkansas, Kenneth Warren and wife Nichole of Blytheville, Arkansas, Angela Wilson of Osceola, Arkansas, and Michelle Choate of Trumann, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, J.T. Hise of West Plains, Missouri; her sisters, Evita Rowland of Paris, Tennessee, and Theresa Smith of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

Janet’s life was not without its challenges, but she leaves behind a reminder that grace, forgiveness, and reconciliation are gifts that can still be found, even in life’s final chapter. Her family will remember her in their own ways and hold close the memories they shared.
