Some candid moments from our balloon fun! 🎈💕🥹

🎈 Maybe a balloon isn’t just a balloon.

Today, we watched our residents laugh and play with a balloon, and it got us thinking about how much life happens between then and now.

Before they were grandparents, great-grandparents, spouses, parents, and residents in a nursing home… they were kids.

They ran outside until the streetlights came on. They played games without needing instructions. They laughed at the simplest things. They didn’t care what they looked like or whether anyone thought they were “too old” to play.

And somehow, all those years later, give them a balloon and that little kid is still in there. ❤️

The laughter comes back. The competition comes back. The joy comes back.

Maybe that’s why they never seem to get tired of this simple little game.

Because sometimes, we aren’t giving them an activity.

We’re giving them a tiny piece of their younger years back. 🎈❤️

And honestly, watching that is a pretty special part of what we get to do.
