Classical homeopathic medicine can help in any stage of life and any stage of disease.

Watching the Emmy audience watch Michael accept the Bob Hope Humanitarian award tonight I was struck by how many people had tears in their eyes. Some filled with admiration and respect – so very well deserved. But some had, what I lovingly call, the head tilt of sadness.

I know this posture well. It is a familiar sight when you tell people you have an incurable, progressive neurodegenerative disease in your 40s (or ever really).

The head tilt is not a bad thing – it comes from a place of deep empathy, love, and sometimes concern. It’s the same face I saw on doctors in several different ERs when they didn’t know how to help me this summer. And what you might catch a glimpse of when people witness your tremor in public. Once you notice it, you will see it everywhere.

To be fair, it’s probably the way I would be watching tonight if I hadn’t been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. But I don’t love the head tilt if I’m being totally honest. I am a fiercely independent, feisty, sassy gal and the head tilt makes me super uncomfy (and yes – my therapist and I work on this). And when I watch Michael up there on that stage, I am anything but sad. I am fired up! How lucky are we to have such a bad ass, fearless, tireless leader who despite all the incredible challenges that three decades with this disease presents, still shows up. Still makes us laugh. Still challenges us to do more. Be more. Give more.

So if you catch yourself with your head gently listing to the side when we’re talking or when you’re watching a clip of me on this site or others, do me a favor. Straighten up that noggin and give me a high five! Because every day that I battle back from the crap that Parkinson’s throws at me is a day to celebrate my bad assery. And what a tremendous privilege it is to have the blueprint on how to do this from Michael himself.

There’s a person behind the package.

Washington Homeopathic Products is still a family-run company.

Joe and Linda Lillard purchased Washington Homeopathic Pharmacy in 1991. Under their leadership, the company grew from a small operation with just five employees into an internationally recognized homeopathic manufacturer.

After Joe passed away in 2016, his family continued the work he cared so deeply about.

Today, Linda, Joe's daughter Belle (pictured here), and son-in-law Wais continue to honor that legacy and help carry WHP into its next chapter.

For us, "Since 1873" isn't just something printed on a label.

It's a responsibility to protect a remarkable American homeopathic tradition and pass it on.
